The history of Vietnamese mathematics is an important part of the East Asian history of mathematics, but it has hardly been studied. One of the causes is that very few materials on the traditional Vietnamese mathematics have been discovered. Fortunately, it has become obvious that at least fourteen Vietnamese mathematical classics existed in the history of Vietnam. Nine of them were gathered by Mr. Zhang Yong about 1938, this is Mr. Zhang Yong's Collection on the Vietnamese Mathematical Classics. Now, the partial transcriptions of each book in it are in the Library of the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Although the transcriptions are not enough, it is certain that they will give some hints for the study of the history of Vietnamese mathematics.
