Intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation formulas have been evolving. New-generation formulas have emerged, from those incorporating AI to those employing ray tracing methods. This paper will provide a detailed discussion on IOL power calculation for various types of eyes, from normal to those with irregular cornea including post-LASIK and keratoconus.

The OCT Workshop 2024 was held to learn about the technology and clinical applications of optical coherence tomography (OCT), covering a wide range of topics from the basics for beginners to the latest topics for advanced users. Based on this content, the highlights of all 14 lectures are summarized. Specifically, the technical aspects include the basics of OCT technology, imaging theory, multimodal imaging, high-resolution OCT and wide-angle OCT, light source development and application to high-speed OCT, prediction of disease progression by artificial intelligence, as well as various topics of functional OCT such as dynamic OCT, Doppler OCT, OCT Angiography (OCTA), polarization-sensitive OCT, and Optoretinography. On the clinical side, we will describe the applications of OCT and OCTA to retinal diseases, especially age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, as well as the potential of OCT for the angle observation of the anterior eye segment.
