In recent years, the performance of contact lenses has been improved, and ophthalmological optics has played an important role in development of the latest contact lenses. Contact lenses are a special optical system in which aberrations detected by the contact lenses dynamically change as the stable position constantly changes on the cornea. Therefore, it is important for optimized optical design to consider the off-axis relative to the line of sight of the eye to improve the quality of vision through contact lenses. Special contact lenses are required for patients with irregular astigmatism with large aberrations that have a major influence on the off-axis correction effect. In this paper, we introduce some of the recent research on enhanced optics with aspheric hard and soft contact lenses for use in irregular astigmatism.
