One of the factors which determine how effectively languages are learned is language anxiety. This paper focus on how language anxiety is interpreted. Therefore, in order to cast one of the causes of language anxiety, namely failure, in a positive manner, the strategy of learning from failure was taught, and its effect tested. What is important in this case is that traditional classroom learning was found to be unsuitable for this approach. This paper describes the alternative learning methods that were adopted, including how they were formulated and developed into two different sets of e-learning materials. In the group that was taught the learning strategy of learning from failure, there was a lower fear of risk in applying the strategy. Also, in the case of failure, when the mistakes were corrected on the spot, the use of strategies calculated to minimize damage to relationships was observed.
