The author had constructed an antibiotics medication counselling system ANTICIPATOR on a large computer by Prolog/KR. Survey of users of system showed that they require consultation served through more convenient and available media. It also showed that there was a difference between user's needs and system's seeds. Next, the autor implemented the system on completely different kinds of media which require no large computer assistance. These were a still image filing system and a pocket computer.

Holographic techniques for displaying medical three-dimensional images are reviewed. Two types of holograms are available for that purpose: one is a multiple exposure hologram in which a series of CT (computed tomogram) images are recorded at proper spacings. The other is a multiplex hologram synthesized from a series of X-ray images taken with different directions around the body axis and also from a series of CT images with the aid of computer processing.

Contribution of ME had been applied only in the field of dental equipment and material. But in recent years information engineering has been applied in the field of diagnosis and treatment. So ME is getting indispensable in dentistry.
We are making efforts to establish a system of analyzing stomatognathic function. This system is composed of three systems, the first is stomatognathic function analyzing system, the second is clinical data-base management system, the last is jaw movement replicating system.
We can make better treatmeant plan and method with these data. It is sure that ME apparatuses will develop dentistry in future.

This paper describes present status and future of ME in clinical ophthalmology.
We have variety of commercially availabe computerized diagnostic instruments for daily use. They are, autoreflactometer, auto vision tester, autokeratometer, autoperimeter and so on.
We also have many surgical ME instruments for general use such as photocoagulators (Argon, Crypton and YAG), phacoemulsifier and so on.
In future, we are expecting introduction of computer aided surgery and computer aided design of surgery in the field of ophthalmology.
We also expect introduction of image analysis, computer diagnosis and telemedicine which may change the conventional system of clinical ophthalmology completely.
