We have developed an Integrated Volume Visualization Environment where multiple data can be processed, visualized and analyzed in a single 3D space. Our Integrated Volume Visualization Environment consists of some extended volume visualization functionalities, an adaptation to irregular mesh, direct vector data handling, volume slicer function, volume morphing function. We applied our Integrated Volume Visualization Environment to some meteorological data. It is showed that integrated visualization is useful for multiple volume analysis of different kinds of data.

To drain pulp and filler suspension and to make pulp mat on the wire, about 40 blades of hydrofoils are mounted under the single wire forming section of the paper making machine. Liquid component of the pulp suspension which moves at high speed with the wire is drained through wire meshes by suction forces which are generated between the stationary surfaces of these hydrofoils and rapidly moving wire. In this paper, considering these hydrofoil blade equipment, and construct a simplified its drainage model as hydraulic problem to calculate generated suction pressures. At the same time, devised a simple model which estimating the paper web (pulp mat) formation structure that is plied up gradually on the wire linking the drainage model.

In multiple pipe bends where the plane of curvature changes along the pipe axis, the direction of the centrifugal force changes with each bend and the Coriolis force also acts due to the rotation of the pipe axis. The stirring effect of the secondary flow is more augmented in multiple pipe bends than that in coiled pipes. We have reported numerical analyses of the developing flow and temperature fields to establish a computational method. In the present work, the fully-developed flow field and heat transfer characteristics are investigated. When P_r is high, the heat transfer in fully-developed flow field is more enhanced than that in ordinary coiled pipes.

A numerical experiment has been conducted to determine the interfacial convective heat transfer coefficient in the two-energy equation model of porous media, which is needed when the assumption of the local thermal equilibrium between the fluid and solid phases is not valid. Three fundamental case, in which the assumption of local equilibrium fails, were treated using structural models of porous media, to determine the interfacial heat transfer coefficient without any empiricism. A universal correlation for the Nusselt number, which agrees very well with the experimental data, has been established using the results obtained for a wide range of porosity, Prandtl and Reynolds numbers.

The fundamental solutions were obtained for a step-like fluid point source and instantaneous point forces acting on three directions in a fluid-saturated, porous, infinite solid of transversely isotropic elasticity and permeability. Together with the Laplace and triple Fourier transforms, Kupradze's method was employed, which allows the number of four unknown functions to be reduced to only one potential scalar function and thus the solutions to be expressed in terms of Hankel integrals with the help of residue theorem. These solutions are intended to be used to derive the integral equations for a hydraulically created crack in transversely isotropic oil/gas reservoirs.

Self-organization of a mechanical structure based on remodeling of living systems was discussed. A mathematical model of adaptive formation was proposed. The model consists of identical mechanical elements which determine their actions by only local information. In this paper, a new biological function by use of L-systems was added to the model and the performance was examined. The computer simulation showed that the proposed model actively changed the topological structure for multiple loading conditions.
