It is well known in the technique to record a stereoscopic picture on the photographic film provided with a lenticular-sheet (hereafter called LS).
The image formation process of this LS stereophotographic system, especially the parallax panoramagram, is theoretically described and discussed. The line spread function shows the resolution of the reconstructed image is theoretically derived and experimentally confirmed. Some theoretical considerations concerning the optimum lens pitch of LS and the resolution limitation of LS stereophotography are given.
