建物用ドアに設置されているレバー式ドアハンドルを対象に,ドアを開ける際のドアハンドルの使いやすさについて検討した結果,ドアハンドルの設置角度に要因があることが示唆された.このことから使いやすいドアハンドルを開発するために,ドアハンドルの角度に着目して実験を実施した.ドアハンドルの角度を調節できるように加工した実験用ドアを制作して,角度毎に主観評価と筋電図測定を実施した.実験の結果,ドアハンドルを捻ってラッチを解錠する時に,水平になるようドアハンドルを傾斜させたものが使いやすく感じられ,筋肉への負担も少ないことがわかった.これらの結果をもとに制作したモデルの主観評価でも同様の結果が確認できた.これにより上肢の負担が少ないユニバーサルデザインのレバー式ハンドルを開発した.
