The package contains three functions which are promotion, protection of the contents, and convenience of the handling. However, there is another function to change the customer's evaluation of a product's quality. The purpose of this research is to make clear the impression on a product's quality by a change of package's design from the results of sensory evaluation. Therefore, two experiments are necessary. Precondition 1 is the result of which the package's design is seen. Precondition 2 is the result of which the package's design is not seen. The difference between the two preconditions is the impression of package's design. This difference is informed the designer to renewal for package's design. The result of the renewal effect shows that the package's design exerts the impression on the evaluation of flavor's quality. A flavor is composed by multi modalities. The design of package by sensory evaluation leads to a possibility of new product development.
