The thickness of plain Knitted fabrics is expressed by introducing a geometrical yarn model in the fabric.
Yarn form in the fabric is not only obtained by geometry but minimum strain energy principle.
In this paper, geometrical contribution on thickness of the fabric is principally discussed. The relationship between thickness of fabric and loop length is expressed by introducing yarn diameter.
The effects of yarn diameter deformation on the thickness is also discussed by some experimental results.
