Few studies have dealt with the dynamic behaviour of the viscoelasticities of fabrics. We have investigated the dynamic rheological properties by using the testing techniques of the. longitudinal wave transmission.
We have determined the many kinds of rheological parameters ; dynamic modulus (E′), dynamic loss (E″), mechanical loss tangent (tan δ), etc. Then we have investigated the effect of these parameters on the dynamic strain modulus and frequency.Further, we have investigated how to apply these rheological properties to soluve the problems of a fabric handle. The test pieces for this experiment are 30 cm in length and 2cm in width. Frequency varies from 10 Hz to 50 Hz and dynamic strain modulus from 0.1% to 1% under 3% in extension ratio.
The experimental results show the tendency that . E′, E″ and tan δ have the larger values as the frequency increases. The fact that E′ and E″ vary with the kind of textile fabrics, i.e., silk, wool, linen, cotton, etc., suggests how to soluve the problems of the fabric handle.
