The R value is R = 0.0766 for 1463 reflections. There is an intermolecular hydrogen bond with an N1…N1 distance of 2.851(7)Å. The pyrazole ring adopts a distorted envelope conformation. The X-ray structure of the complex dichlorobis(N-{4-[(2-pyrimidinyl-κN-amino)sulfonyl]phenyl}acetamide)copper(II), containing a metabolite N⁴-acetylsulfadiazine (or N-{4-[(2-pyrimidinylamino)sulfonyl]phenyl}acetamide) of the antibacterial sulfadiazine as ligand, is reported. The complex crystallizes in the space group P2₁/n with a = 12.7531(3)Å, b = 8.0777(2)Å, c = 14.8548(3)Å, β = 112.237(1)°, and Z = 2, requiring it to be centrosymmetric. Two chloride ions and two N⁴-acetylsulfadiazine molecules are coordinated to the metal center, each organic moiety being bonded to Cu(II) through a pyrimidinyl nitrogen atom. The metal coordination sphere includes carbonyl oxygen atoms from symmetry-related complex molecules at the apical sites of the square-planar unit, CuN₂Cl₂, giving a tetragonally-distorted octahedral geometry around Cu(II). Although N⁴-acetylsulfadiazine, itself, has not demonstrated antibacterial activity, the title complex showed moderate growth inhibition of several bacteria in in vitro assays.

This work reports on the synthesis of a copper(II) coordination compound with 4,4-oxibis(benzoate) (obb) and trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethene (bpe) ligands. The complex was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, which showed a 3D polymeric structure. Each copper center is surrounded by four oxygen atoms at the basal plane and one nitrogen atom and one copper atom at the axial positions, revealing a distorted octahedral geometry. Four carboxylic groups bridge two copper atoms, forming a cage-like structure, with the distance between the metallic centers being 2.656(1)Å.

A single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the Ce(III) ion is coordinated with ten donor atoms, eight of which belong to an open-chain crown ligand, and the remaining two to bidentate nitrate groups. The coordination polyhedron around Ce(III) is a distorted bicapped square antiprism.

In the two independent co-crystal units, identical R₂²(8) hydrogen-bonded motifs occur, each involving the hydrogen bond SD(-SO₂-N-H)…O=C(PCL) and the hydrogen bond PCL(O-H)…N(SD pyrimidinyl). A significant inequality of the two N…O distances in the chemically identical N-H…O=C hydrogen bonds indicates that such parameters can be strongly influenced by the crystal packing factors.

The title compound, [Ag(Phca₂en)(PPh₃)₂]ClO₄, where Phca₂en is N,N′-bis(β-phenylcinnamaldehyde)ethylenediimine, crystallizes in space group P2₁/n, with a = 21.2044(7), b = 10.5089(3), c = 28.1172(9)Å, β = 109.205(1)°, V = 5916.8(3)ų, Z = 4, T = 292 K, D_calc = 1.386 mg m^-3. The coordination polyhedron about the Ag(I) atom is a distorted AgN₂P₂ tetrahedron and the Phca₂en acts as an N,N′-bidentate ligand.

The title complex, [Zn((3,4,5-MeO-ba)₂en)I₂], has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The geometry around the zinc atom is a distorted tetrahedron. This structure consists of intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the type C-H…I and C-H…O.

The crystal structure of the thallium sulfate selenate tellurate Tl₂[(S_0.6Se_0.4)O₄]Te(OH)₆ was determined with single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with the P2₁/c space group. The unit-cell dimensions at 298 K are a = 12.3580(10)Å, b = 7.2310(10)Å, c = 11.9860(10)Å, β = 111.090(10)°, V = 999.33(19)ų, D_x = 5.029 g/cm³, and Z = 4. The R value is 0.047 for 1799 reflections. The anions are disposed in a number of sheets of pure (S,Se)O₄ tetrahedra, alterning with sheets of pure Te(OH)₆ octahedra. All of those planes are intercalated in a bidimensional arrangement by Tl⁺ cations.

In an attempt to grow crystals of sodium acid phthalate, the title compound, (phth)₂(H₂O)₃ (1) [phth=phthalate], was obtained which crystallizes in the monoclinic system; space group C2/c, β = 113.65(3)°, V = 1812.9(6)ų, Z = 4, D_c = 1.415 g/cm³, the final R = 0.0781 and wR = 0.2367. O-H groups of phthalate rings form strong hydrogen bonds with lattice water which stabilizes the crystal structure.

The title compound, 2-phenyl-9-hydrazino-1,10-phenanthroline, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2₁/c with the following unit-cell parameters: a = 11.7738(3)Å, b = 20.9998(6)Å, c = 12.4546(4)Å, β = 106.750(1)° and V = 2948.71(15)ų. The crystal structure was solved with a final R = 0.0612 using 6260 independent reflections; it contains two independent molecules in an asymmetric unit, which are joined into a dimer by hydrogen bonds between a phenanthroline N atom and the NH donor of the hydrazine substituent.

The title compound, C₁₂H₁₁N₃, was synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. In the molecule, the substituted pyridine ring is not coplanar with the azo group, and the angle between the pyridine ring and the azo plane is 7.6(2)°. However, the angle between the azo plane and the benzene ring is 9.7(2)°. The N=N distance is 1.228(2)Å.
