This work is used aluminum can material for recycling to enlighten it. One is made by aluminum can of 500ml, about 8. It is used aluminum can recycling aluminum includes big impurity, that re-refining is necessary to use it as a material of the general industry products. The form fitted to the character of recycling aluminum, which hasn't been refined, was designed, easy production was realized without refining it again. And it was made the structure that dismantles and separate material was easy. It's the characteristics of this work. The production at aluminum studio of Sapporo-City Environment Enterprise Public Corporation and making of the local circulation type was practiced. It was shown to the people with the commentary panel of the recycling to enlighten after the completion.

The object is to develop a bicycle which is transportable on many different types of public transport, and can become smaller within a few actions. We made three prototypes, each time we added improvements. The feature of the bicycle is a linkage mechanism, which constitutes a bicycle main frame that folds into four (cross folding). With this mechanism you can easily fold up the four elements (handlebars, saddle, front wheel and rear wheel). However, in the first prototype, a part of the hinge projected from the main frame when the bike was being ridden. This was a big problem for designing the mechanism. In the second prototype, we used aluminum square tube to make the bike lighter, and the frame was simplified by adjusting the angle of each hinge. Consequently, the projected part of a hinge became smaller and the problem was solved. The purpose of the third prototype was to clear the projecting part completely. We solved the problem by devising a new cross folding-mechanism with a slide hinge. The mechanism could be applied not only to a folding bicycle but to other products as well.

This application software is the material for learning Japanese hand alphabet which is the basis of Japanese sign language. The use of this digital content is the material for a lesson, complement for reviewing, or independence study with playing. Japanese hand alphabet is the phonogram and the each expression corresponds to each sound of Japanese syllable. In this application, partner's face, voice, hand alphabet, and the form of the hand in the case of carrying out from oneself are expressed simultaneously. Furthermore, the origin of a word of a Japanese hand alphabet is expressed by animation. The purpose of this work is the following two points. One is introduction, education, and motivation of learning Japanese sign language. Another is trying solution with the information design for the problem of the existing sign language study.

This development is based on a joint plan with Mitsubishi Electric Corp. and J-Phone Co.,Ltd (the present Vodafon K.K). J-Phone were extending the number of members by leaps and bounds by photo-mail service in autumn of 2001. And further,they were groping market cultivation towards the future. On the other hand, Mitsubishi Electric have the delay of clam-shell type adoption, and couldn't set forth a strong brand image to the market, sales force was declining. The designer of Mitsubishi Electric was groping for overthrowing the present condition taking advantage of creativity from the position of a design.As mentioned above, the expectation of J-Phone which tried market cultivation towards the future, and Mitsubishi Electric which wants to establish a brand image, it came to develop the terminal of an innovative design. This report mainly introduces the development circum-stances of Mitsubishi Electric.

This work of The Environmental Design of Naganohara Arch Bridge has been prepared for one of the five bridges crossing the dam lake, which will be formed after the dam itself which has been planned since 1950 and is now being built in Naganohara-machi, Gunma Prefecture, by the Yanba Dam Construction Site Office of the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is completed. The bridges are planned to be constructed as part of the environment improvement project in the areasurrounding the Yanba Dam. This work of environmental design has been prepared upon the request from and examined by Yanba Dam Environmental Design Examination Committee after the basic plan of the bridge was made, given the import-ance of its design. Currently, part of this bridge is used by the public and contributes to the local traffic. Other three bridges will be completed in 2008, and national road Route 145 will then be reconnected. They are thus expected to be utilized not only for local traffic but also as a pivotal point for broader roads and serve peoples daily lives as well as sightseeing.

[Land Wave] was awarded the best prize of Art Work in JR tower in Sapporo. It has been placed at JR tower in southern gate of Sapporo station. It was represented by soft waves of DUCTAL material and it's natural texture. [Land Wave] inhabits like a interval between crowd and shopping area, as if we are healed by landscape of firm ground in HOKKAIDO. DUCTAL has materialized the one rank higher performance in all aspects in comparison with concrete, while being the technology which uses cement as a base. In this way, the new application and usage were enabled.

The design works of Nagashima Dam has been conducted for a period of eleven years by a single group of civil engineering designers with the cooperation of seven Director-General of the Branch Work Office, the Director-General of the Management Office, several tens of members of the Work Office, and members of the Building Department of the Chubu Regional Development Bureau, the municipal government of Honkawane-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture, consulting companies, and construction companies. The dam body and its ancillary facilities, including Shibuki Bridge, Minami Alps Sesso Ohtsuri-bashi Bridge, and Nagashima Dam Fureaikan, were designed and constructed as a whole. Based on the motif of strength, dignity, and friendliness, they were designed using common materials, colors, shapes, and organized functions, and considering the aging and maintenace in 50 and 100 years. Ostentaion was eliminated, and the structural quality and performances were ensured. Natural stones, stainless steel, and aluminum were actively used, and the facilities and sign borads were painted in common theme colors.

This project is based on the idea of that an apartment can be divided into two areas: the area which does not change for a long time (S=support) and the area which needs to be changed in relatively short term (I=infill). This is a proposal to install the model space of "in fill" at Urban Development Corporation Research Institute Technical Center in order to materialize a residence that is able to accommodate elderlies' needs. Effectively renovating a room in an apartment suite can change the living space by depending on the physical ability andliving style of the elder resident. This project embodied thespace within his/her current residence in which an elderly can live more happily and cheerfully.

A lot of play equipment set up in the city park has various problems now. Recently, the tendency said that it will review what should be of the play equipment by the accident of the play equipment being reported is rising. The play equipment designed this time is a proposal of shape with a new jungle gym that is not suitable for needs of a modern child, and not used from two sides of creation of securing the safety of play and the charm. In this design, it was achieved to enable the creation of the charm by various spaces designing the composition of the jungle gym of the FRP unit of the saddle type that applied a minimum curved surface, and securing the safety of play by this.

The purpose of this study is to develop a network-based design method for "Kansei" interface designs by combining functional data with kansei data. This paper describes the approach and structure for "Kansei" interface design and "Kansei mail". The proposed "Kansei" structure is based on retrieving information, making data from the information, transforming from the data to expressions, confirming the expressions, sending data, receiving data, and transforming data expressions. An experimental design for "Kansei Mail" was developed to evaluate the proposed "Kansei" structure with mail application. It was available to the public and a lot of good feedback has been received.

In the development of homepage editor, We had various user survey while in early phases of development from the universal design view point, and defined target user group obviously. And also, we studied the function and design for each target user group. We designed user based UI from this approach, we evaluate this new design concept by using prototype and working code and studied. We tried to develop ease of use product by this process.
