The aim of this study is to implement a design education programme utilizing simulated visual impairment and to investigate the educational effects of this. In order to investigate learning effectiveness, analysis of the results of surveys taken before and after classes and home design improvement proposals was conducted. As a result, it was confirmed that this programme has the effects of improving the students' awareness of knowledge of architectural devices for the visually impaired and of improving the impression of the visually impaired that the students have. Further, this demonstrated the effectiveness of incorporating simulation into design education as the students pointed out various issues in their own work and made proposals for improvements.
