    Several experiments by single and continuous discharge with copper electrode and steel workpiece were conducted, changing discharge duration and peak current of impulse in broad range in transistor switching circuit.
    Main results are as follows.
    (1) Removal rate W can be described by an expression of the form, W=10-2K Ip1.5=10-2I·Ip0.5, in which W, Ip, I and K are removal rate (g/min.), peak current (A), mean machining current (A), and effective duty factor (0.1-0.9). This shows that W is hardly related with discharge duration in case of constant machining current.
    (2) Copper electrode wear ratio decreases with the increase of discharge duration and the decrease of peak current. In case of small wear ratio electrode machined surface is covered with carbonaceous skin mask, which may be considered to act as protection effect of electrode wear.
    (3) Removal rate to roughness of machined surface increases with the increase of electrode wear ratio.

    Research has been done theoretically and experimentally about Characteristics of Current density distribution over-work-piece in electro chemical machining which are related to machining accuracy.
    Relations between characteristics of current density distribution and characters of electrolyte, which are electric conductivity and apparent electric conductivity which is varied with concentration of hydrogen gas, pressure gradient and flow rate, have been obtained by theoretical analysis.
    Experimental study has been done and the experimental results are found to be qualitatively coincident with the theoretical results, but experimental valves are higher than theoretical valves.

    Study on the electrolytic profile lapping of cemented carbide alloy was carried out experimentally. Effective grain size of abrasives, stock removal rate, wear of lap, over cut size, working accuracy etc. were investigated.
    The experimental apparatus consists of plane grinding machine which turns a mild steel lap at a speed of 10m/s. Abrasives used are C, GC, and A, whose grades are 240, 320, 400 and 600 mesh. Electrolyte is mixed water solution with NaNO3, NaNO2, and NaF. Workpieces are S2P20 (WC 79, TiC 14, Co 7) or STi 20 (WC 76, TaC+TiC 14, Co 10) with thickness of 4.5mm. Working voltage is 3-10V and current density is 10-120A/cm2.
    In the working, plunge feed gives higher removal rate and better accuracy than traverse feed. Removal rate of this process is higher than that of spark grinding or diamond wheel grinding, and it is comparable with the rate of electrolytic grinding. Working accuracy depends upon the profile to be made. Comprehensive care of working conditions such as pouring electrolyte slurry on the lap, working voltage, feed method etc, leads to higher precision, but the accuracy of ±0.01mm is hard to be obtained.
