A variety of 3D surveying instruments have been introduced to i-Construction recently. In order to achieve the effective productivity, it is important for us to distinguish the characteristics of each instrument. We also need to select the appropriate instruments for each survey site and proceed the hybridization of the 3D point cloud data.

Compared with single beam depth sounder, multibeam depth sounder can measure underwater terrain extensively with high precision. By outfitting a multibeam depth sounder on a small unmanned boat, it can easily measure water areas where manned boats are difficult to measure (eg small dams, reservoirs, rivers). This method can satisfy customers’request to efficiently grasp underwater terrain. In this paper, we introduce the small multibeam unmanned boat, the operating method and sample measured data.

The Ministry of Land,Infrastructure,Transport and Tourism is promoting i-construction,to improve the productivity of the entire construction production system and aim for an attractive construction site. by introducing measures such as full utilization of ICT (ICT earthwork) at the construction site. It is also necessary for surveying technicians who are involved in construction consultancy work,to work on the preparation of the three-dimensional model on a day-to day basis in order to improve the productivity and creation of added value. We hereby submit a report about the process from the three-dimensional measurement method (which we implemented) to the creation of a three-dimensional model with case examples.
