The objectives are to develop a methodology fo gloabal mapping of vegetation with NOAA Global Vegetation Index and geoinformation and to monitor the globala change of bioshere.
The methodology wich has been developed by the authors is based on multi-temporal analysis in which monthly vegetation activity cycles of NVI (Normalized Vegetation Index) were recognized by pattern of vegetation types together with geoinformation such as DEM (digital elevation model) .
As the result of the study, a global vegetation map with eight vegetation types which were defined by multitemporal pattern was produced using three years average of NOAA GVI for 1985 to 1987.

Pushbroom scan will be used widely in future high resolution imaging spectrometer. What is the reason? Why will not be used the mechanical scan for high resolution? In this paper, comparison of signal integration time was done and it was shown that the pushbroom scan is the ultimate scan scheme from the viewpoint of integration time. Then the parametric estimations of resolution power of each scanning scheme were performed. In each scan scheme, we are reaching to the performance limit.

Linear array, such as photo diode array or linear CCD, has cross talk between adjacent elements. How much the cross talk is dependent of wave length of irradiant energy. In this study the measurement result of the cross talk is shown at first. Then model of the cross talk is introduced and MIF analysis is done based on this model. Finally, results of MTF calculation and imaging simulation of a linear array are shown. An imaging spectrometer which uses linear arrays has different resolution power depending on wave length.

The habitat of Shirosita sole which is a very famous fish in Hiji-machi, Oita Prefecture, is well known to be related with underground water gushing out from the coast line as submarine springs.
The objective of this study is to search the gushing points of submarine springs using satellite remote sensing data of LANDSAT-5/TM thermal infrared (TIR) band which were acquired on MAY 16, 1990.
This band is able to search the gushing points of submarine springs by observing the seasurface temperature distribution.
The result shows that LANDSAT-5/TM TIR of high resolution is effective for surveying fisheries resources habitat.

Recently the biomechanical analysis of human movement has received more attention in the area of sports, medical science and human engineering.
This paper describes a new approach using the simple 3D photogrammetric analyzer system“BIRDMAN” (bundle adjustment with self-calibration) which is used for stereo photographs of human movement with two non-metric continuously synchronized cameras.
The test data were obtained from a person who has been training for dancing for four years and another person who has not been training. Using photogrammetric 3D digital data, person stick-model pictures and the displacement, velocity, and acceleration of the center of gravity for person movement were prescnted.
The result shows that the trained person's arms, legs and waist move over a larger range, with better balanced form, and that the trained person has better speed vector control and more impulsive force for subsequent movement in a 3D space, which is to say that the trained person has better feedforward control for movement than the untrained person has.
As a result of this research, it can be said that the photogrammetric algorithm and analysis developed in this study are useful for biomechanical analysis of human movement.
