City parks play various roles for a city. The first role is to function as a playground for children. The other roles are to function as an evacuation space, to preserve the natural environment and so on. In this paper, the actual utilization rate of parks by pre-school children and parents' awareness of city parks are examined. Questionnares were distributed to and collected from kindergartners' parents. The result is as follows. In majority of cases, the number of parks used is one or two. Besides playing at home, most pre-schoolchildren use a park or astreet near one's home as a playground. Dissatisfaction is considerably strong towards the lack of space, equipment, accommodation and safety.
