Particles suspended in an air stream have a tendency to move as apparently large particles agglomerated 2 or more single particles, rather than to move as a single particle.
In order to investigate the agglomeration phenomena of particles of powder, it is necessary to measure size distribution of elementary particles constructing an agglomerated apparent particle and for this purpose horizontal wind tunnel was used.
For the purpose of erasing influence of sample powder's size distribution, “Agglomeration rate” and relative particle size were used, and following results were obtained.
1) Agglomeration rate functions are fixed, regardless of agglomerated apparent particle size.
2) Agglomeration rate functions of some powders are approximated by logarithmic probability distributions.
