Cat-scratch disease(CSD)is a worldwide zoonosis caused by Bartonella henselae. Because isolation of B. henselae by culture is difficult, the standard laboratory diagnosis of CSD is serological tests using indirect fluorescent antibody assay(IFA).Detection of B. henselae DNA by PCR is also examined when lymph nodes are obtained. Isolation of B. henselae DNA from blood specimens of CSD patients has been sporadically described. However, the usefulness of serological tests, coupled with the detection of B. henselae DNA from blood specimens, is not well described. We examined 80 patients with suspected CSD using IFA and real-time PCR(rPCR)on blood specimens, to confirm the clinical utility of the combined use of both assays. Of the 80 patients with suspected CSD, 17(21.3%)were positive by IFA and 11(13.8%)were positive by rPCR. Six patients were positive by both assays. CSD detection sensitivity increased from 21.3%(17/80)using IFA alone to 27.5%(22/80)with combined use of IFA and rPCR on blood specimens because B. henselae DNA was detected in 7.9%(5/63)of blood specimens from seronegative patients. The combined use of serological tests and rPCR on blood specimens is recommended for the prompt, noninvasive laboratory diagnosis of CSD.

The objective of this study was to create a relationships between recurrence prevention activities by public Health Nurses(PHN)and people with mental disorders’history of hospitalized involuntarily to police operations.

Self-administered survey questionnaire were mailed to 371 supervising PHN and 569 PHN specialized in mental health. The survey items included fact-finding 36 questions about recurrence prevention activities.

The result of multiple regression analysis show higher scores for“obtaining neighborhood associations’understanding”and“providing support using tools shared by patients and supporters”were affected by a lower number of patients with history of involuntary admission by the prefectural governor, whereas this number increased as“common understanding system objectives and criteria with supporters,”“comprehending patients’degree of understanding of their disease,”and“informing medical institutions of patients’intentions after being discharged”scores increased.

In intergroup comparison, the group with on-the-job training showed significantly higher scores in all five items.

In order for PHNs to reduce hospitalization history, it was important to gain the understanding of neighborhood associations and to use tools that encourage patient self-care.

The purpose of this study is to identify the practical techniques and related factors of how public health nurses working for local governments finding community health needs.

To answer this question, we conducted a questionnaire survey about a scale measuring the competences of public health nurses in the policy in Japanese administrative agencies and contents of the practical techniques. And we found relations in the Pearson correlation coefficient and build on multiple and hierarchical multiple regression analyses to identify the related factors.

As a result, we identified the 4 main factors of practical techniques,“to be aware of the community health needs must be solved in the regions and focus on the citizen’s life backgrounds”,“to bundle community health needs from data and living conditions”,“to bear the responsibility of solving regional community health needs”,and“to build relationships with citizens and persons concerned to share community health needs”,and 30 articles.

This study aimed to clarify the progress and issues of community care conferences and explore the effective ways of fulfilling the function of the conferences. Establishing community-based integrated community care system is an urgent issue in the regions with the aging population. The conferences have been held mainly by community general support centers to support care managers, build a community support network, grasp community issues, and develop community-based integrated care system, which was stipulated in the Long-term Care Insurance Law.

An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted of all the professional staff of community general support centers who participated in the conference. The question items included basic attributes, basic understanding of the conference, debriefing of the conference, obstacles to the management of the conference, and results achieved from the conference.

The results showed that self-efficacy had become an important factor in promoting a common understanding among participants. Among participants a concept of multidisciplinary for problem solving was shared. But they had not understanding enough at the level that can explain the purpose and importance of the conference to other participants.

The study purpose is to clarify effects of public health nursing practice and issues related to them in University A that employs PDCA development diagrams for public health nursing activity. Anonymous self-administered surveys were performed for 161 fourth grader students from 2018 to 2019 and 139 valid answers were obtained. Four and five points for each goal were defined as learning achievement degrees. High and low score groups before practice were determined from the total learning achievement scores of 53 goal items. Three-quarters of them wished to be community health nurses. Their learning motivation for practice was almost positive. Learning targets of the items significantly increased after practice. Learning achievement degrees exceeded 90%. The learning achievement degrees of“Relate community health nurse activities to local health problems and draw PDCA cycles in development diagrams”exceeded 98%, suggesting they depended on repetition of the thought of PDCA cycles. Scores of the low score group rose to the level of the high score group after practice. This practice program brought achievement to both low and high scorers. Teachers need to be involved with health nurses’studies to promote them while giving meaning to the practice and concept and promoting cooperation with facilities.
