Applications from the Performing Arts to Science Talent Development

Implications for the Performance of Girls and First Generation University Students

This presentation focuses on results and implications from three related research streams. I will argue that the lessons learned from the preparation of elite music students for the world of competition and high performance are of optimal use to STEM talent development, particularly for girls and children from low income families.
