The possibility of expanding molecular wave functions by using a series of functions on one single center is discussed. The calculations were performed for the ground state energies of H
2+ and H
2 with reasonable results. For example, a relatively simple expansion yields 3.80 e. v. as the dissociation energy of H
2. The advantage of this method is, above all, its simplicity of calculations.
