The expansion of water-based paints application would be expected for prevention of the global environment and human health and safety. Use of water-based anticorrosive paint has been limited by its characteristics, and it is necessary to discuss versatile use for the further application promotion. In this paper, coating film adhesion onto some kinds of surface condition and surface preparation of real structural steel is discussed. And also, paint workability and drying in low temperature are considered based on experimental results.

At the present time, it appears that the transition from oil-based anticorrosive paint to water-based anticorrosive paint. However, the water-based paint is considered that it is more sensitive to application conditions than the oil-based paint. In this paper, hardening behavior of the water-based paint is discussed based on experimental results in comparison with the oil-based paint.

This report mainly focus on one pack type of modified epoxy primer on different kinds of non-ferrous metals, especially galvanized steel plate by confirming the performance testings such as adhesion, anti-weathering and so on in considering the following circumstance of the market demands. It becomes more popular in the industry to use Epoxy Resin type as anti-corrosive primer because of (1) Shortening working schedule due to faster curing time (2) Long lasting durability for steal surfaces instead of Priming system using Oleoreginous or synthetic resin which were commonly used to be a basic priming system. It is also reported that there are so many integrated types of lower solvent types Modified Epoxy Primer promoted into the market (Lead/Chrome or Heavy Metal Free)in consideration of Environmental Protection. In addition, the standardization of those integrated products is under consideration by Paint Industry.

Recent years, the water system change of paints is advancing from the problem of environment pollution and the problem on work environment. However, the frequency which cleans the coating equipment and others after the use in water increases at water system paints's increasing as for paints employer side. The process of washing water was accompanied with this, came to use much water, and became a subject. A large amount of expenses become necessary for abandoned water process but the process way by the coagulant spreads as a way which deals simply with washing water and it is to put into the practical use and to doing a change. It used a new coagulant, worked the abandoned water process after paints washing, and the effect was inspected this time. The result of investigation study is reported.

The demand for lead and chromium-free technology is one of most important subjects for prevention of the global environment and human health and safety. Cocerning steel window sash and doors, coating method with JIS K 5629 calcium metaplumbate anticorrosive paint onto chromate chemical pretreated galvanized steel surface is generally applied. In this paper, new chromium-free preteatment for the galvanized steel and lead and chromium-free coating systems onto the converted steel surface have been discussed based on experimenatal results.

Asbestos fibers can be released from asbestos containing cement sheets due to deterioration. The asbestos abatement technology by coating systems for deteriorated asbestos containing cement sheets has been developed. In this study, we measuring asbestos fiber density when performed for decorated cement shingles for dwelling roofs and corrugated slate sheets which were exposed to the outdoors.
