The human body significantly alters characteristics of the antenna, which is used for cellular telephones and similar communication devices. This interaction as well as the resultant deposition of microwave power in the human body is of particular interest for potable radio equipment. Radio wave induces the current inside the human body, whose heat evolution action causes the biological effects. For the evaluation measures, Specific Absorption Rate(SAR) is used. In this paper, Measurements by the thermographic method using an infrared-camera and Tissue Equivalent Phantom is introduced to estimate the SAR in the human head exposed to microwave sources.

Recently, the demand for the mobile satellite communication is increasing, and many communication services are in the planning stage. Various types of vehicle antennas which can track the satellite have been studied. In this paper, we chose the circularly polarized slot antenna. We have described the beam-switching printed array antenna at 2.6GHz-band.

The digital satellite broadcasting in JAPAN was started by JCSAT-3 (128 degree of east longitude) in October, 1996. Another digital satellite broadcasting will be started in April, 1998 by JCSAT-4 (124 degree of east longitude). The angle of orbital separation between JCSAT-3 and JCSAT-4 is 4 degrees. We've developed the essential technologies of "Overlap-Dual-Feed" and "Feed-Cap with Protrusion" for Dual Beam Antenna. We've completed design of a small size (Diameter=40cm) Dual Beam Antenna to receive services by both JCSAT-3 and JCSAT-4 ("JCSAT-3/JCSAT-4-DBA").

Under the mobile condition, the signal quality degrades seriously by frequency selective fading and Doppler shift, because under that condition, carriers in OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) can not be kept the orthogonality by these interferences. In this paper, we propose a symbol equalization method for synchronized demodulation with the propagation path characteristics estimated from complex delay profiles calculated from the received pilot signals.

At a TV relay station in SFN, transmission characteristic is more or less degraded with the coupling from transmitter to receiver. The degradation is gradually accumulated through cascade relays and in case of large coupling, transmission characteristic results in failure. By controlling the phase of a coupling signal to compensate the distorted spectrum in each station, the degradation can be suppressed to an allowable amount under a certain condition.

In this paper, the measurement results of signal levels attenuated by external walls, windows and obstacles are described.

As for optical wireless LAN, when the communication distance becomes long, the influence by the weather cannot be disregarded. Then, we investigated the influence on optical wireless LAN by measuring the transmission rate in long distance (6.2Km) and medium distance (1.8Km) simultaneously. Moreover, we investigated the influence which the weather exerted on optical wireless LAN. As a result, it was confirmed that the weather hardly influenced if the communication distance was within 2Km and practical use was possible.
