The purpose of this study is to select commercial picture books for learning of 「home life and family」 of home economics in elementary school and clarify the points of selection. First of all, nine books were extracted from 100 books depicting families. It is a survey picture book containing the contents of the course of study. Using these picture books, we investigated on the reading of picture books for university students and elementary school students. As a result of the analysis, three books highly valued from both groups were selected as appropriate teaching materials. In addition, we investigated the reason for the picture book in which there was a shift in reading of both groups. Three points for selecting a picture book were suggested. 1)Learning contents being expressed in a plain episode. 2) The feelings of the characters and the scene setting are clearly depicted by a pictures and words. 3) Learning terms and concepts are expressed by sentences.

Art appreciation is receiving more emphasis in Japanese primary and secondary art classes. To raise the level of such classes, we must improve the presentation media used in them. After elucidating the problems with presentation media, we gave questionnaire surveys to junior high school art teachers to clarify the following three points: (1) the informationization and the utilization of presentation media in art appreciation classes, (2) the effect of presentation media on the content and the purpose of the classes, (3) the functions that art teachers want and expect presentation media to provide. We clarified that art rooms are equipped with less ICT equipment than general classrooms. In addition, since many teachers feel handicapped by inadequate equipment for delivering presentation media, their selection of art works is limited. They seek functions that present presentation media in a size that is near the actual size of the art piece and can make solid objects that can be appreciated from various directions. We identified the functions that are required in presentation media to improve art appreciation classes.

In this research, we are interested in how e-portfolio which accumulated children's learning record helps teacher's child learning situation. I am trying to use it in graduate school classes and think about whether teachers or preservice teacher students can receive and think about improvement of lesson based on evidence. Then, we examined what kind of points to keep as an e-portfolio management method at that time. The following five points were clarified on doing this: 1) Using an e-portfolio for Curriculum Management increases students' understanding of children and their awareness of lesson study. 2) The e-portfolio has several ingenuous functions that support reflections toward improving classes. 3) Using an e-portfolio facilitates the faculty team in providing opportunities for students to observe classes (as places for experiencing meaning) and children based on their reactions to the lesson. 4) For effective curriculum management, it is important to know the contents developed in the e-portfolio by teachers to have an overview right from the beginning. 5) In order to associate learning with problem solving in each subject etc., it is necessary to consciously cultivate in children the ability to use information independently, which can be facilitated by using an e-portfolio.
