Phalangeal fillet technique (PFT) is one of the surgical reconstructive techniques for digital pad transfer. A mixed breed dog of 2 month weighing 1.75 kg was presented with severe injured on the footpads of right hind limb. After debridement of the damaged area, PFT using 2nd digital pad transfer was performed for reconstruction of the metatarsal pad. The transferred pad permitted weigh-bearing on that limb successfully without any complications.
A rare form of hemangiosarcoma originating from the lymph nodes (LN-HSA), characterized by slow progression, has recently been reported in dogs. We herein report a case of LN-HSA in a dog that progressed rapidly. Despite complete surgical removal of the LN-HSA from the right retropharyngeal lymph node, the dog developed additional nodal and splenic lesions within 2 months and died 148 days after surgery.
