Osaka Seikei University Faculty of Management have been developing and executing learning program to support cultivating student's self-directive generic skills since latter half of 2010. During the execution, it became apparent that there is a lack of student's self-assessment ability on reflection. Therefore function to support improvement of self-assessment skills has been added to e-portfolio system and also it was decided to adopt peer assessment which is said to be effective in enhancement of objectivity for self-assessment. In this research, we executed additional peer assessment and examined its possibility.

Our research team examined how the system of generic skill development can be incorporated into the academic context and started a demonstration experiment of a learning program called a common program in the second semester of 2010. The configuration of one common program is preliminary learning, PBL and reflection. An e-portfolio system was developed for objective setting and integral evaluation and improvement thereof in the processes of learning generic skills experientially through the common program, and for support for learning for spiral improvements through changes over time with repeated learning. For the functional design of the system, we identified the need for higher accuracy of monitoring and self-assessment of individual student activities in order for continuous improvement of generic skills and developed functions to support this. This article first describes 3 elements: a learning model built for development of generic skills, a common program for implementation of the learning model and an e-portfolio system to support learning in the common program. Then the effects in these generic skill development efforts are explored based on results of the demonstration experiment.

A purpose of this paper is to propose assessment systems for improving generic skills. We discuss based on knowledge and insights of educational psychology and cognitive psychology in order to do that. Especially we clarify that it is important to make up assessment systems which promote self-regulated learning by supporting metacognitive activity. Then validation of effectiveness on these systems is verified on the base of a questionnaire survey towards students in our university.

While Opening up Education advances, in order to utilize an e-portfolio effectively it is necessary to bring an e-portfolio up in a learning platform and finally to bring it in a community which uses an e-portfolio. Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education has been publishing research articles relevant to teaching, learning, and education in decision sciences area since 2003. It publishes academic research articles about management education in colleges and universities. We collected keywords that were included in these articles and conducted keywords analysis to study application of information technology in education. This trend analysis shows increasing role of information technology in management education and longitudinal change of focused keywords. Some new keywords appear recently and other old keywords disappear in the course of publication history. This transition reflects information technology innovation and diffusion into management education.

Recently, as many people require business applications for big-data, human resources who can perform data-mining enough, are needed. In order to develop such human resources, we have to provide practical data-mining education program. In the educational program, we should teach a lot of knowledge. They include several data-mining algorithms and another knowledge such as marketing. And we should handle total data-mining processes using such knowledge. This paper proposes an educational program for practical data-mining. In the program, a method to evaluate capabilities of students, is proposed, and data which are collected by the method are analyzed.

In the management information field, the language education of a computer is important. In the conventional language education, it is a curriculum centering on grammar. However we are able to learn the essence of a management information system trough developing an operation system. In this paper, we propose the methodology in which beginners can also develop an operation system easily. First, students deepen knowledge of an operation system by experiencing a business game. Next, students develop system. By developing system, students use structured programming and object-oriented approach. Our methodology is also method by active learning.

This paper examines the actual typing exercises done by students and their results as well as typing performance and tests that may be influenced by these exercises. The study investigates whether there are any implications that can serve as a guide for computer literacy in the future by analyzing the data from various angles. For example, when and how much do students practice of their own volition? Does practice bring a corresponding level of achievement? Furthermore, is there any relationship between Excel skills and students' personalities? It was found that while typing is a simple operation, it relates not only to the role of data input in information processing but also to various other issues. Note that the term "information science" used throughout this paper does not refer to subjects of study but to major courses provided at high schools.

Up until now, a problem for disaster-response measures has been that they have been government-initiated in one direction, from government to citizens, and that there are limits to the government's ability to collect information and ascertain citizens' needs. In recent years in Europe and the United States, measures by ICT use for open government have been pursued aiming to realize open government through citizen participation and collaborations between the government and citizens. In this paper, the effectiveness and problems of the government-initiated measures that were considered at the time in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and also of non-government measures by citizens and other groups, are clarified. This paper clarifies the possibility of complement to these problems by applying this approach to disaster response and preparing disaster-response measures on a daily basis that envisages collaborations with citizens. And this paper proposes the necessary specific measures in the future.

The purpose of this paper is clarify interpretation and behavior of the various actors, and the construction of a network of phenomena over the technology, by case study of the exploration of process and current situation in Japan over genetically modified foods(GM foods). In particular, observation is the social shaping process of the safety in the technical artifact until distribution of current from appearance of the GM foods to the domestic market, and is solved using the social shaping of technology approach(SST approach). There is, focus is institutionalization of the GM foods represents, it appears that convergence of interpretation over the safety of GM foods and resolution of conflicts between actors has progressed.

In this paper, I presented a strategy for a consumable-good-focused business model in which an important type of business model in the field of business-model studies is applied to create new customer value from mature products such as beverages and revitalize the business concerned. I also analyzed the cases of Nestle Japan's Barista and Doke Gusto coffeemakers, Marukome's miso-soup dispenser, and the Sujahta Silk Ice ice-cream server as examples of successful consumable business models. I showed that characteristics of this strategy are that few corporate resources are invested in hardware development and manufacture, and that they constitute a mechanism for avoiding the long-standing problem of compatible consumable products. I emphasized the importance of this strategy and discussed businesses to which it could be applied effectively.
