In this essay, the students themselves, who have received the policies of the local government, have started a project that contributes to the revitalization of the region and examined various issues. First, three students created a corporation and launched a community-specific Internet information media. The Internet media “Locoty Aomori” distributed information on restaurants and columns in Aomori prefecture, and the number of views exceeded 20,000 and the number of followers on SNS was 5,000. Currently, the branding of “Locoty Aomori” is steadily being promoted, and the number of PVs is also increasing. In the future, the three officers will take different paths, but since it will take more time to grow the media, we will continue to operate it in the future.

Considering that local SMEs are one of the main players in regional innovation and that innovation without IT is difficult to imagine in the age of digitalization, IT support measures for SMEs should be considered as contributing to regional innovation. Since the national policy considers SMEs as a spot, we decided to take up the IT introduction support policy of Kyoto City, which made a similar effort, and consider how it could contribute to regional innovation. As a result, it was found that neither the national policy nor the Kyoto City policy has reached a level that can be called innovation, and that they are still at the stage of building the foundation for innovation.

This study compared the structure of the smart city reference architecture with that of the regional-emergence platform. The regional-emergence platform is encompassed in the city operating system (OS) as a group of regional information platform functions. We hypothesized that this structure enables the intermediate support system (human platform) and regional platform (site creation) to play their roles in urban management, therewith configuring the smart-city design requirements. Based on this hypothesis, we examined a case of smart city implementation in Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture. We confirmed that a bottom-up approach is more effective, as issues could be resolved for individual services as a process of horizontal development.

This paper attempts to analyze the relationship between the groundbreaking innovation of recirculating aquaculture system, which has gained attention in recent years, and new business creation, from multiple perspectives. Although the research fields of innovation and new business creation have always been closely related, to date, they have been studied separately. Therefore, this paper focuses on the four perspectives of resources, organization, competition, and market, as an analytical framework linking innovation and new business creation. Research in this field is still in its nascent stage, and the underlying relationship between the cause and effect of each phenomenon has not yet been clearly understood. Hence, the use of a single case study is considered methodologically appropriate. The results of the study draw out four implications each, based on the analytical framework.

This paper reviews the previous studies that discussed the definition of results, the measurement indexes, and the capability acquisition process of R&D human resources, and clarifies the conventional R&D human resources development method and the Implicit premise of the discussion. In addition, this paper compares the results of the qualitative data analysis of the latest survey with the previous study by this author, and clarifies the points of change. Furthermore, components and viewpoints of the new framework for R&D human resources creating new business are proposed.

In this study, we clarified the challenges to imparting FinTech education to students from the social science faculties, which will be the source of financial human resources for the DX society. First, we have described the current situation of banks. Next, we examined the relationship between business and IT with regard to the concept of FinTech, and then examined the awareness of management information and finance among social science undergraduates through two questionnaire surveys. As a result, we found that there is a certain degree of gap between students who are interested in management information and those who are interested in financial business. In addition, we determined a need to develop education at the intersection of traditional banking business and expanding IT-related business in order to develop FinTech-capable personnel working for financial institutions in the future.

Simultaneous Participation and Connection Method (SPCM), one of key technologies of P2P, is a method for connecting peer groups by peers’ simultaneous participation in multiple peer groups. SPCM is widely used for inter-organizational connection recently in the real society. We introduce a project run by Hoshino Resorts implementing SPCM to connect their organizations for improving customer satisfaction. The project has a problem which requires large efforts in collecting various data for an evaluation of its performance such as inter-organizational connectivity degree. We propose an efficient method to evaluate performance of SPCM with simpler input data from evaluation results of computer simulation.
