Selective methanation of CO in reformed gas was carried out over Ru catalysts supported on various metal oxides and their catalytic performances were compared with the commercial Ru catalyst. Among the catalysts tested in this study, the operating temperature regions of Ru catalysts supported on alumina, titania and Y and beta zeolites were wider than that of commercial Ru catalyst. We supposed the support effects from the examination of the influence of gas composition and some characterizations.

Bioethanol, obtained by biomass, is one of the important hydrogen suppliers as renewable energy sources. In addition, its utilization at the point of greenhouse gas emission is considered.
Several studies using model material as bioethanol are conducted previously. However there are few studies using actual bioethanol as a reactant. This paper shows the differences of characteristics between the model and the actual material in terms of their properties and reaction characteristics.

Water gas shift (WGS) reaction is one of the processes to reduce CO concentration for hydrogen production. We have investigated the WGS activities over Pt and Pd catalysts supported on various perovskite oxides. Among them, Pt/LaCoO
3 and Pd/LaCoO
3 catalysts showed high catalytic activities. 0.5 wt%Pd/1 wt%Pt/LaCoO
3 catalyst has higher activity and stability than the reference catalyst. LCO support and Pd/Pt/SiO
2</sub catalyst showed no activity for WGS, so synergetic effect of Pt, Pd and LCO perovskite was important for WGS activity.
