Lepidocyclina limestone of Nakaosaka, Gumma Prefecture has been known for a long time., This time I have found Lepidocyclina-limestone at Matuozawa, Odaira to the west of Nakaosaka., The strata of this locality consists chiefly of conglomeratic sandstone, an alternation of sandstone and shale, and black shale., This black shale contains the two layers of the Lepidocyclina-limestone., The upper layer of this limestone is 11 cm in thickness and the lower is 15 cm., In the foraminiferal fauna of the Lepidocyclina-limestone is found a great abundance of Lepidocyclina (Nephrolepidina) nipponica (HANZAWA), and farther the limestone sometimes contains Lepidocyclina japonica YABE, Miogypsina sp., Amphistegina radiata (F., and M., ), Globigerina sp., Texturalia sp., Lenticulina sp., Nodosaria sp.,
