As an artificial electric lines T line nad π line are in common use. They can be designed to represent exactly the voltage and current of conjugate uniform line at their junctions at a single frequency, When the frequency changes, the character of such an artificial line, will deviate from that of a uniform line, If the artificial line is to be used in a definite range of frequency this error can be mode sufficiently small by making the section of the artificial line small. When the length of each section is given, the error due to the change of frequency may be made small by suitable circuit arrangement of the artificial line, It is proposed to combine T sections and π sections for this purpose and utilize opposite frequency character of them to neutralize the frequency error. Such an artificial line is here called combined Tπ type artifical electric line. Theory of one kined of such combined Tπ type line is give (see fig. 9, )Calculations and experiments of the actual 4-section T type, π type and combined Tπ type is reported. The result is, from a definite combined point of view, in favour of the combined Tπ type.

The present rapid increase in capacity and distance of transmission line made the use of Aluminum-Steel cable as superior to copper conductor owing chiefly to its mechanical strength. The aluminum-steel conductor is not simple in its mechanical character but reveals many interesting relatirons, as this cable is composed of two different materials. The following is the topics of this paper:-
    1. Distribution of tensile load between two metal components in aluminum-steel cable.
    2. Stress-strain diagram of aluminum-steel cable.
    3. Effect of temperature upon mechanical stress in aluminum-steel cable.

The paper is designed to show the influence of different types of conductor material on the lay-out of a 130 KV transmission line carrying 60, 000 KW over a distance of 150 miles. Copper, Aluminium and Aluminium-steel conductors are compared each being strung on the most appropriate span length and the estimated construction cost is tabulated in each case. Different types of construction for mountain and valley sections are briefly considered. The general con-clusion is in favour of the use of aluminium-steel cables for economic and operating reasons.

It has previously been pointed out that Al-cell arrester reveals some remarkable behaviours under the E. M. F. at audio frequencies. Its behaviour under radio frequency E. M. F, is now studied by mean of the Braun tube oscillograpb.
The dynamic characteristics and the cyclic current diagrams have been obtained for frequencies varying between 100, 000 and 200, 000 cycles per sec., from which the wave shape of the current and the potential against time are deduced.
The superior quality of the Al-cell arrester is that the static capacity of the film is considerably large and that the discharge characteristic is non-disruptive. These superiorities may not be superseded by any other type of arrester, even very probably by the oxide film arrester.
