In the 1980s, a wider variety of art festivals began, including "Ushimado International Art Festival" (Okayama Prefecture) and "Hakushu Art Camp" (Yamanashi Prefecture). With the start of "Echigo Tsumari Art Field" in 2000 and "Yokohama Triennale" in 2001, it was said that the "era of triennale had arrived". Since then, many triennales and biennales have been held across the country. In this presentation, we will classify currently held art festivals into types based on their attributes and consider the relationship between these types and the effects of hosting them, particularly their impact on the local community.
