To explore the relationship between women's reproductive history and their mental health, a study was conducted employing self-administered questionnaires. One hundred and seventy-seven questionnaires were returned, giving a response rate of 63.2%. Mean (±SD) years of participants was 30.3 (±6.3). Mental health was assessed using Rosenberg's self-esteem scale. Our results showed that "age" (p=0.007) was significantly associated with self-esteem levels. Among women over 30 years old, it was found that self-esteem was significantly lower among those who had undergone induced abortions compared to their counterparts (p=0.035). Public policy and mental health care for women who have had abortions was discussed.
