A purpose of this paper is to make clear the concept of sport coaching from the viewpoint of the “structure of wisdom".

The sport coaching is one of the professional (technical) physical education. A task of coaching is to create superior performances of athletes than before. But logically speaking, the instruction by coach's personal experience cannot achieve this task. Because, his personal one is individual and do not have universality. In general, it is necessary to make full use some kind of wisdom to solve a new problem. Necessary one for coaching is wisdom of “art" that is intellectual ability to create something. Therefore, it is important to understand the concept of art as some kind of wisdom.

According to Aristotle, the art is defined that is “identical with a state of capacity to make, involving a true course of reasoning". Also Doc. Taketani defines it as to “apply consciously an objective law-related regularity". A commonality of both is to define the art as intellectual ability.

In order to be produced new result by an art, the scientific knowledge is indispensable. The science aim at discovery of new laws, and its function is the rational explanation about the object and a prediction to the future. And the objectivity of scientific statements lied in the fact that they can be inter-subjectivity tested. Accordingly, The objectivity in the science is different from the absolute truth. The science criticizes an existing theory continually, and is going to overcome it.

The artistic wisdom can open up possibility to bring about new result by utilizing some scientific knowledge with the objectivity. Aristotle says that the doctor must do prescription in accord with the personal characteristic of the patient, and it is the same about the coaching of boxing. In the process of the coaching, various wisdoms participate, and they become the driving force to promote sports culture to the new horizon.

The purpose of this study is to make clear the meaning of health in sports from the viewpoint of the performance of athletes.

It is often said that sports are good for health. This idea is based on the physiological effect of exercise. However, the effect means only the condition of the body through“exercise." In other words, it is considered that health is the condition of the body through moderate exercise. Sports, however, are played in excess of the moderate amount of exercise.

According to an American philosopher Paul Weiss, a man possessing all the essential factors in a vital unity and the usable power to act properly is in good health. He also says that tactics consisting of Judgment, Rules, Decisiveness, Control, Rhythm, and Flexibility are essential to a fine performance. Using his definition of health and the essential factors in performance, it could be said that health in sports means the condition of the man who possesses the components of tactics in a vital unity and makes use of them properly. Although this kind of health condition is only one dimension of health, it has a significant roll to play. The reason is that such a condition, as Weiss says, offers one step toward the state of being a completely-healthy man.

It is necessary to clarify the difference in health between sports and the other fields and define the meaning of health in sports relatively. Health in sports should be totally understood in relation to health in the others.

This study is to clarify ethical foundation to support mechanism in sports that continues the development of the world scale in spite of various problems like complexity of values, culture frictions and ethical problems. In this study, I refer to emotional aspect that is one of Tomihiko Sato's three aspects of sports structure (physical, intellectual, emotional). However, his argument only refers to specialty of emotional aspect according to each culture, so it couldn't be general foundation of sports ethics.

Therefore, this study is focused on solve general foundation of sports ethics by quoting Kant's moral philosophy that is aimed to establish a general moral principle. As result of this, I could define categorical imperative of sports as follows; ‘athletes should aim to behave to play and fulfill games as the subject personally according to sports structure as a principle of an object'.

Any athlete plays for making and fulfilling game with imperative (Gebot) and duty (Pflicht) for existing of game itself despite of moment of victory or defeat. I suppose that this categorical imperative of sports could be general of moral judgment about athlete's behavior while playing game. Further, I would like to examine moral problems concretely in future.
