Load balancing of the hot spot is inevitable problem in large-scale, high performance and high speed internet. Server methods have been attempted by the load balancing using server replication, the mirror server and the mass storage server. We present an effective load balancing method by dynamical assignment of accesses according to performances of grid computers and report performance evaluation of our proposed load balancing.

In this research, we will present migration of work flow control function in the grid environment using the network attached storage (NAS). Our proposed migration method is characterized by dynamical selection of a certain node and switching the selected node into the workflow controller. We also evaluated performance of the implemented system about our proposed grid migration.

In the current grid service, huge calculation resource is prepared to use the resource and execute big calculation according to the user request. We present a grid service in which not only computing resources at server side but also surplus computing resources at client side can be utilized in the grid environment. We call this service "Self-participation grid service", which aims effective use and cost reduction. We compared evaluation between proposed service and conventional service.

This paper presents a grid computing, which integrates surplus powers of personal computers existing on networks, and distributes them the jobs generated by dividing huge process. We call this type of grid as User Resource Integrative Grid. This grid has several unideal restrictions caused by realistic property that it exploits general user's resources. Under these restrictions, we propose the methods for efficient job scheduling on User Resource Integrative Grid.

In this paper, we propose a new decision support system (DSS) for dealing stocks which improves the traditional technical analysis
by using neural networks. In the proposed system, neural networks are utilized in order to predict the "Golden Cross" ("Dead Cross")
several weeks before it occurs. Computer simulations concerning the dealings of the TOPIX, Nikkei-225, and several individual stocks
confirm the effectiveness of the proposed system.

We model electro-mechanical dynamics leading to repeated switching of power networks, called cascading transient dynamics. The dynamics are strongly related to emergence of cascading blackout and are therefore important to analyze and control. The goal of our study is to clarify the mechanism of cascading blackout and control it from a viewpoint of hybrid systems. As a first step of our study, we model cascading transient dynamics in five areas system using hybrid automaton.

This paper analyzes how much the change of thermal sensations has impact on comfortability by Structural Equation Modeling. The data for analysis include twenty two experiments' vote for their feeling on several conditions. Applying 4 kinds of models to the data, we found 3 findings as follows. 1) The model dealing with the change of thermal sensations has the fittest indices. 2) Changes of thermal sensations of buttock and chest have great impact on comfortability. 3) Change of fatigue impression has no relation with comfortability.

This paper is concerned with mechanism of time-delayed feedback control of chaos from the viewpoint of global dynamics. The harmonic balance analysis of controlled periodic systems suggests that non-target periodic orbits embedded in chaotic attractors are annihilated or degenerated to target orbits as feedback gain is increased.

Stability analysis and stabilization of nonlinear systems are one of the most important fundamental problems and also a difficult problem. A recent topic on this problem is an approach based on `density functions' whose existence proves a stability of nonlinear systems. This talk is concerned with analysis and synthesis by using C0 (not differentiable) density functions.

The article proposes a new method for reducing noise in MPEG compressed videos.
It is well known that MPEG compressed videos show block noise and mosquitoe noise.
For reducing the noise, we design the H-infinity optimal filter which reduces noise
taking account of the analog characteristic of the original image.
Moreover, to preserve edges in the video, for example, characters,
we proposes to use a nonlinear filter (epsilon filter).
A numerical example shows the result.

This paper considers a model predictive control for continuous-time two-mode piecewise affine systems. The proposed method solves optimal control problem with unknown terminal time, and constrained terminal state for designing MPC for
two-mode PWA systems with sequential mode transition. Furthermore, it uses a continuation method for solving a non-linear equation in order to improve both efficiency and accuracy of the calculation.
