We tested sometphosphor are from Chôsen by flotation; the are consists of apatite and limestone, assaying P2O5 7.80% in average. By sizing the ground material we obtained four products, 65-100 mesh, 100-150 mesh, 150-200 mesh, and 200 mesh. The flotation tests were carried out on these various sizes as well as 65 mesh-through respectively. We obtained satisfactory results with the coarser sizes, but not with the finer sizes such as minus 200 mesh, Desliming was conducted for sucn fine materials by decantation, and in this manner we succeeded in flotation of the fine materials. Reagents such as soda ash as pH regulator, pine oil as frother, oleic acid and sodium oleate as collector, tannin, sodium silicate, citric acid, starch and other chemicals as depressor were used.

To find the substitute for the steel-cored aluminium conductor which has been much applied to the electric conductors during past few years, investigation were carried out. The chemical composition of the aluminium made from the aluminous-shales differs slightly inthe ratio Si: Fe from ordinary aluminium. The characteristics of the chemical composition is especially useful on the preparation of this alloy which has been developed by the authors. As the chief alloying elements, a small amount of Magnesium and Antimony were added to the lower grade aluminium containing 0.3-0.6% of Silicon and 0.2-0.3% of Iron, but Silicon is not added in melting alloy.
The following properties can be obtained on this alloy after heat-treated and heattempered.
    Table I.
It is evident from Table I that this alloy which attains almost an equal strength and electric conductivity to that of Aldrey wire which has been used as an alternative to steel-cored aluminium conductor and that this alloy is superior to Aldxey wire in the resistance against corrosion. When properly handled, it could be used for the electric conductors as the substitute for the steel-cored aluminium conductor.
