Industry4.0 introduces the new relationship between providers and receivers. We recog- nize IoT is key concept and technology of Industry 4.0. Some researchers think Industry 4.0 realize smart society focusing on efficiency of production and transaction. Service science puts Industry 4.0 to the technological platform creating value with customers. Society of Serviceology is new academic association for service science. This article supplies the perspective of serviceology to Industry 4.0.

This paper introduces the outline of service science from the academic viewpoints and also proposes to see the future of high-tech society from the perspective of service science. The technology such as computer, AI and robotics has made remarkable progress these 20 years. This paper discusses about the fourth industrial revolution that is enhanced by IoT( internet of things) and proposes to utilize the service science that would contribute to make the high-tech society more valuable for the humankind.

Digital transformation causes users and companies to connect and interact with each other. With this change, companies are required to provide value directly to users. Then, companies need to explore issues with users and co-create value. This would led the well-informed users to self-serve their own demands. I call this phenomenon “collapse of the guild.” In other words, it will collapse existing industries that used to make the information gap a competitive advantage. All companies should be addressing the “collapse of the guild.”

The effects of hindsight biases are clarified to hide the creativities in enterprise inno- vations. The two stages of enterprise innovations are analyzed, and the two models of emergence mechanisms are proposed from the viewpoint of complex science. The first type is the emergence of strategic behaviors caused by ‘Ba’ to which few persons contribute. The problem-solving discourse between two persons are analyzed, and the discourse is classified into three inference categories of deduction, induction or abduction. By plotting these as innovation diagram, it is found that the emer- gence processes show fine structures of the successive chains of micro-abductions. This suggests that creativity may be governed by the acceptance of meaningless hypotheses created by micro-abductions in ‘Ba’. The second type is the emergence of organizational culture caused by accumulated strategic behaviors. This mechanism is shown to be the chaotic transition from old organizational culture to new one. This chaotic transition is due to ‘transfer-crisis’ of chaotic state through the instability of strategic behaviors via enforced learning of the schema of old experienced strategic behaviors. The differences and relations of these two types of the emergence mechanisms are discussed. And the implications and applications of this idea are also discussed.

This paper introduces activities of the Development Engineering Society of Japan (JDES). JDES was established in 1973, aiming at finding methodology to develop voluntary technology. Four study groups are active in the following fields: engineering brand, coordination management, busi- ness innovation, and intellectual property management. Outcomes of four study groups are presented at annual meeting to promote mutual understanding among the members. JDES publishes journals to introduce the latest research.
