The oscillation phenomena of booster is the phenomena caused by positive feed back of boosters output signal into the input, and it is not normal operation of boosters circuit. This oscillation gives interference to neighboring TV receiving sets, result in beat disturbances on the conventional TV screen. This reports describes that the rust of external conductor of booster output cable caused the lost of shield working of cable and related with boosters oscillations.

In technical training courses for electrical appliances stores, we have explained about interfered TV pictures with photographs, so it has not been so easy for auditors to see what type of interference was observed. In order to make the course more effective, we newly developed an equipment that can generate quasi-pictures simulating four types of interference frequently found. : Pulse noise, Oscillation of boosters, Sporadic E-layer propagation and Co-channel reception. Through their own exercises with it, it will be useful to arrive at an understanding with them. More, it permits us hold courses with a lot of content through explanation about concerte methods to improve picture quality.

We have developed a new signal processing method for rejection of zero-beat interference for television relay station. An received interference component under some kHz is extracted by horizontal synchronous sampling, and by adding this signal to received carrier in opposite phase, we can get the television carrier without interference. In conventional way a synchronous broadcast have been under practive for improvement of reception quality, but this method employs a simple idea and its cost is lower.

The interference in the nighttime to MF radio broadcasting from foreign radio waves is a serious probrem. For that purpose, the construction of new relay stations and re-arrangement of frequency allocation are continued now. Recently, we have developed an unprecedented new type of MF receiving antenna device containing narrow directional characteristics applying the principle of the direction finder. This device will strongly contribute to reduce the above mentioned interference. The outline of the performance of this device and its characteristic features will be introduced here.

It has more margin to atmospheric optical transmission than any conventional analog optical-FPU, by using the D-3 format VTR's digital signal processings. Accordingly, we need not an automated direction adjustment control. Instead, this FPU is equipped with an simple mechanism varying radiating beam width as a countermeasure to vibration, from viewpoints of cost and portability. We have recognized in field tests that this new optical-FPU has high operations reliability.

A 1Mbps spread spectrum (SS) radio unit has been developed for wireless communication. As a first step, the very weak intensity 300MHz carrier signals are transmitted with direct sequence (DS) spectrum-spreading. The received signals are despread by using a SAW matched filter with a locally deposited ZnO layer on the input IDT on a st-cut quartz substrate to reduce mismatch loss. For DPSK data time-sidelobe of the filter autocorrelation is reduced using a new 25 chip spreading code. Further a time-window threshold-gate is developed, enhancing the receiver sensitivity by 8dB. As a tryal application to moving-picture wireless-transmission, a prototype visual transceiver has been developed, receiving the moving pictures of 112 × 112pixels with 5 frames/s at a distance 10 to 20m from the transmitter.
