This paper reports a case study of Focusing-Oriented Dreamwork about a strange dream and discusses the process of self-exploration through Focusing-Oriented Dreamwork. Focusing-Oriented Dreamwork uses several questions from a list of 16 questions for the focuser’s felt sense. Based on a case study of Focusing-Oriented Dreamwork, the processes of self-understanding and exploration were clarified. In Dream Focusing, two types of questions that lead to associations (①What comes to mind?②What does it feel like?), two types of elements that create a story (①places ②characters), and two types of ways to interact with characters (①What part of you is that? ②What if you become that person?) were used as appropriate. The focuser was able to gain some new insights by checking the response from the felt sense of the body for each question as she proceeded through the dreamwork process and deepened her self-exploration. The process of Focusing-Oriented Dreamwork, the focuser’s self-exploration, and the guide’s guiding were discussed.

Tapping Touch is a care technique of alternating right and left touch using fingertips, which has psychological, physical, and relational effects. This study examined changes in behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia induced by Tapping Touch. Elderly women with hallucinations and depression were given tapping touch for 10 minutes three times every three days. The results showed that after the first intervention, the hallucinations disappeared, the depressive tendency improved, and the communication ability improved. These results suggest that Tapping Touch is useful for some of the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. However, since this is a single case study, generalizations cannot be made. Further studies are needed to apply this method to multiple cases.

The first stage of the SARI model, one of the treatment models of trauma care, uses stabilization techniques to reinforce the client sense of security and safety. In the present study, stabilization based on the five-stage ego strengthening techniques(Stanton, 1989)was used with a client. who presented with dissociative symptoms such as alternate personality following a car accident. As a result, the client. was able to 1. decrease negative feelings and sensations in the mind and body, 2. acquire a mindful attitude, 3. externalize negative thoughts and problems, 4. destroy symbolic images that cause negative thoughts, and 5. visualize a positive future in a special place where they feel safe and secure. The client was then stabilized after 21 sessions. Subsequent traumatic memories were successfully reprocessed. These results indicate that the five-stage ego strengthening techniques(Stanton, 1989)is useful as a stabilization technique.
