1. Durch Anwendung von verschiedenen Mischsäuren wurde die Acetylierung unter Erhaltung der Faserstruktur ausgeführt und der Verlauf verfolgt.
2. Es stellte sich heraus, dass bei der Acetylierung unter Erhaltung der Faserstruktur die gleichen Erscheinungen, die in der I. Mitteilung (Über die Acetylierung der Cellulose) beobachtet wurden, erkennbar sind, obwohl der Verlauf beträchtlich makroheterogen ist.

The composition of the mixed solvents for airplane dopes has been discussed relative to the blush resistance and tautening property:
(1) It is reasonable to formulate the acetate dope with hydrophilic solvents which have a good solving power even when mixed with a great deal of water, but the blending of a proper amount of hydrophobic diluents such as benzene, toluene and hutanol etc. is very effective for the prevention of blushing.
(2) By the nitrate dope hydrophobic solvents and diluents are beneficially used as practiced in the lacquer industry, but it must be remenbered that the good tautening effect can only be obtained by blending a maximum amount of diluents at the sacrifice of the increase in viscosity.

(1) Cellulose acetate is stable to sunlight and even a clear film maintains good mechanical properties during a long period of weathering.
(2) Maximum durability is obtained by acetate films containing 2530% of plasticizers, while too much of heavy solvents or plasticizers proniote aging.
(3) Cellulose nitrate is, as is well known, very sensible to heat and light, and clear films break down within 12 months of exposure, but their durability can be improved by covering them-with several coats of pigmented dopes.
(4) In nitrate films, the durability increases with the increase of plasticizer contents.
(5) Weathered acetate films easily slack in rainy weather.

Resistance to weathering of the various doped fabrics are examined:
(1) The panels coated with acetate dopes have the tendency to slacken in rainy weather, which is difficult to remedy by applying upper coatings of a modified acetate dope containing some phenolic resin.
(2) Futhermore, upper coatings of water proof materials, except nitrocellulose, do not adhere well on the base film of acetate dopes.
(3) Two or more coatings of nitrate dopes make the acetate film sufficiently water resistant, but they increase the inflammability.
