Presently, Globalization and ICT have highly progressed, while market competition has been getting stronger. Corporate organizations have made it an important issue to make good use of Knowledge Assets they have produced. Those same corporations have also used those Knowledge Assets as innovation for improving corporate value. This study clarifies the relationship between Telework and Knowledge Assets Management (KAM) and those who experience both Telework and a high level of KAM. This positive effect on corporate performance, employee satisfaction, etc., can clearly be seen in the 2007's survey of employees that worked for companies listed on the Japanese stock market.

Telework as a tool for organizational innovation is proposed. Regardless of the size and the sector (public/private), the efficient utilization of human resource has become a must for Japanese organizations due to the declining birthrate and aging population. Also the current turbulent global competition calls for more swift management. In order to satisfy these needs, a telework-based organization, which utilizes both internal and external organizational resources efficiently, is introduced.

Currently, we can send the large volume of data as mobiles origin e-mails. However, mail magazines are too long to read due to. Then, in this study, we give this points per high-hitting keywords to each of e-mails after analyzing frequently used keywords in mails when it's difficult to read. We will visualize relatively based on the accumulated points of each topic. Concretely, we will utilize, (1) bubble charts and scatter diagrams, (2) bar charts, (3) circle graph. And intend to construct the systems which visualize the main topics easily and enable them to understand quickly. By overcoming this situations which restrict reading longer e-mails even if they contain this information needed so it will contribute to improvement on accessibility.

Gairaigo, words that have origins in foreign languages, are widely used in Japanese language. However, most of such words have different pronunciations, and sometimes different meanings, from the original words. Therefore, foreigners who study Japanese language find it difficult to learn them. This in turn makes it difficult for them to read books and newspapers. At the current state, Japanese language education mostly focuses on everyday conversation. However, it is necessary to increase reading comprehension of the students, and teaching words of foreign origin can help to achieve this.

Resort Office Research Group has continued the research for three years and this paper is our final report. We discussed, had fieldworks, and carried out an experimental project. We could deepen the concept of the resort office and make clear its problems. We classified the resort office into two types: individual type and corporate type. The former is offices that self-employed individuals open at resort places on their own accounts, and the latter is offices that firms open for their management purpose. These two types are different from each other in some respects. We think that corporate type is harder to develop than individual type because of economic reasons. Nevertheless, we emphasize the importance of the resort office. The merit of the resort office is creativity and it is the key element of the global competition in the knowledge society.

Telework is expected to serve as a core element of BCP (Business Continuity Plan) in the event of a pandemic. However, the kind of telework necessary in a pandemic is very likely to be of a completely different character from the examples currently introduced. Most companies have no experience of that kind of telework, but they still have not devised any training or countermeasures. That leaves the possibility of chaos in the event of a pandemic. Therefore, this study examines the differences between telework in normal circumstances and telework in a pandemic, and the problems that could occur, and discusses necessary countermeasures.

E-business is becoming common practice in many industries. In reality, however, a long list of companies has gone out of e-business. Many of these failures could have been caused by the difficulties unique to e-business, which have not been made clear, and thus similar mistakes may have been repeated. Furthermore inducing mechanism, which may cause the difficulties unique to e-business, has not been made clear. This study attempts to examine the inducing factors, which may attribute to unique aspect of e-business companies. This paper extracts the common elements from existing works related to this study. Then we propose hypotheses about the inducing factors in unique aspect of e-business companies.

There are several purposes on intoroduction of telecommuting. "Diversity", "WLB (Work-Life Balance)", "BPR (Business Process Reengineering)", "BCP (Business Continuity/Contingency Plan)" and so on. Though the evaluation on telecommuting programs will be significantly affected by the purpose of intoroduction of telecommuting, the relation of them is confused actually. That seems to be one reason for low penetration of telecommuting in Japan. Through a questionnaire survey on workers, I analyze the relation and structure of the purpose on intoroduction of telecommuting.

Many research literatures and textbooks in project management mention that selecting an appropriate communication method, including contents, channel, frequency, document design and so on, with the project type and stakeholders needs is important to the project success. However, on domestically distributed software development projects, it seems that the project managers are not aware of the difference in between distributed and concentrated projects, and thus they use the same set of communication methods for both concentrated projects and distributed projects. As a result the members of distributed project often cannot communicate with each other efficiently. In this study, hypotheses for the difference of communication methods and communication efficiency between distributed and concentrated software project is proposed. The preliminary research to verify the hypotheses is also conducted.

This study focuses on the role of the human resources department in BCP. Since 9.11 companies have been required efforts to be socially responsible for continuing their business under the crisis situations such as terrorism, a large-scale earthquake, and influenza. The human resources department implemented "Disaster measures" before that. While the risk management paradigm was shifted from disaster measures to BCP, the role of the human resources department is assumed to be changed. On the other hand, the implementation of telework paradigm was also shifted from experimental use of IT to employee's work life balance support. Moreover telework is recently pointed out as a working style to continue their business in BCP. The present study tries to highlight how the role of the human resources department has changed while paradigm shift from disaster measures to BCP, and to examine the role of the human resources department to implement telework effectively in BCP, with noting the companies which treat telework as a BCP.

Today's development of supply-chain management (SCM) has encouraged integrated product distribution system between companies. However, in a time of disaster, it is considered that this development will cause damage on regional and corporate business continuity and the stop of business between customers will bring economic difficulties. The government and big companies has been formulating BCP in order to solve this problem, but among small and medium-sized companies, it is not yet common. It is said that regionally cooperated BCP, public-private cooperated BCP and BCP by business collaboration counting on SC will achieve a certain result as risk management in a time of disaster. Formulating BCP has becoming an important element for companies and organizations. Now, the change from individual BCP to BCP between regions and cross-industrial companies is required. This study aims the acceleration of cooperated BCP by studying case examples and bringing out the cooperated BCP's efficiency and the factors and problems for the acceleration.

In this research actual cases of telework-based organizational innovation that applied a new management model called A-CORE (Activity Chain based Open Resource Enterprise) are discussed. A telework is utilized as an indispensable tool to achieve goals of this model. The case enterprise realized A-CORE by applying telework to employees in the headquater in Tokyo and the sales office in Shanghai. It was found that a telework can be introduced in a short period of time without any capital investment if a company uses ICT with an appropriate policy. It was also confirmed that the application of A-CORE to the enterprise drastically improved the efficiency of the enterprise by cutting operating expenses. The enterprise could reduce management risks through decreasing fixed cost, converting some fixed cost to variable cost, and decreasing working capital. In addition, another effect of utilizing competent human resources and accelerating to launch new businesses with this model were discussed at the end.

The effects of a university on the local economy consist of two elements, those are backward effects and forward effects. There are many studies on backward effects. Quantitative economic effects of universities or colleges are estimated in the studies. They indicate that the impact of a university on local economy is significant. Introduction of Telework on university or college activities which includes education, research, technology transfer, administrative affairs and so on may increase not only backward effects but also forward effects on local economy. As a demonstrative example of telework based university, a plan of dispersed distribution of university buildings in a central commercial district where suffers declining economy was proposed and examined. The plan which introduces the concept of telework into a university campus system is expected to activate the local economy and can be a solution of recent economic problem of inner city.

Current telework is applied for the workers that want to concentrate on their own work once a week. To promote "telework" among workers, the target of telework is nessessary to be expanded to "team-work." We focus on the informal communication in a team which is lost on a telework environment. In this paper, we propose the telework communication systems can realize the environment in which you feel like you are working in the real office. We consider functions which needed for the informal communication. We propose the meta-realistic telework communication systems that realize the functions. We show the results of experiment using that systems.

Social capital, which is developed through the interaction among people, is recognized to be valuable capital in business organizations. It has been considered that telework will reduce the opportunity to build social capital due to the lack of face-to-face interaction. However, some recent communication technologies have enabled people to interact in the cyberspace as if they were in the same location. Therefore, even in telework, social capital may be built by using such technologies. In this paper, the definition and the measurement of social capital in the society in general are described. Then several situations where communication technologies may be able to help building social capital are illustrated using OKI's "Choh-Rinjoukan" telework system. At the end, the way to measure social capital in working places and some hypotheses are proposed.

The inducement of the local government, the industry group, and the trade organization is necessary for cooperation with another enterprise. Information is extremely important in the business. And information is accumulated in an industrial cluster. It is significant for the enterprise in an industrial cluster. It contributes to the recovery of competitive edge after disaster. Today teleworking is increasing rapidly, but the shift to working at home from commuting to and from the office everyday may increase an environmental burden by using inefficient equipments at home such as air conditioners. In order to calculate and compare life cycle CO_2 emissions between different work styles, we set three work style scenarios, working at office, using the telework center in worker's neighborhood and working at home. We also considered CO_2 emissions from commuting and the rebound effects attributed to the increased leisure time. Ahead of calculating, we measured life cycle CO_2 emission of telework centers in Kanto region, because there is no inventory data of the telework center. As a result, we found if a telework center or a conventional office is used efficiently, their CO_2 emissions become same level as working at home.

The analysis of work life balance in Japan is produced many great results within this decade. But inequality of man and woman still exists in the job market and office because gender gap index is quite low, 96^<th> in the world. A cause of that low order is low proportion of women's manager, Which is 9.3%. Japanese enterprises have some tendency to prefer man's management and mind of Work Life Balance takes in a Parallel direction with only for women's policy. So, I am supported Work Family Border Theory, which is a new analytical way, are crossed with time over working and life course. That is a new analytical way to think about work life balance in man and woman.

The use of the Internet and mobile communication service has been common in the business, and the way of working has been dependent on the communication tools used. The selection of communication tools becomes more important as the quality of communication in a group depends on the selection of communication tools including face to face. This paper proposes "Media Fitness Framework" through which the degree of fitness between a task and a communication media can be determined by measuring rational, social and environmental aspects of the communication. It then shows some sample analysis of a group in the distributed work environment which has become common these days.

If we live and work where we want, we will have a dramatic change not only in the work but also in our way of life. In my study here, I put in order various ways of psychological estimation which will concern this Ultra-&Meta-Realistic Telework Communication. As a first step for aiming to fix the frame to construct a mental model of the user, I executed interviews to talk concerning teleworking, and analysed these qualitative data.

The government urges the local governments to prepare their Business Continuity Plans (BCPs). However, there are not many local governments which already prepared BCPs. This paper aims to clarify the factors to urge preparing their BCP based on the public information about the risk and crisis management written on their web sites. As the result of this research, it comes into focus that specialists or divisions on risk and crisis management would contribute to preparing their BCPs.

Telework has become popular and available for our daily life with the rapid growth of information and communication technology. Accordingly, the demand of our society for new work styles and a new type of human resource are increasing. However, the institutional and legal labor system remains unchanged. Location, work hours, job commitment, worker's compensation and so on often do not compatible with the concept of Telework. In order to overcome the incompatibility, we should reconsider the background of the current institutional and legal system which has been established from the history of mining industry. In addition, we examine the challenge of Joban Kosan Co, Ltd. as an example of diversification of declining industry.

The framework of the SOHO CITY MITAKA was actually started in December, 1998 as a demonstration experiment by cumulative 9 SOHOs at a SOHO pilot office. As of March, 2010, 115 offices have cumulated in 8 public and private official facilities in the city. It was verified by the experiment in 12 years that businesses and employments have been created by the cumulation of SOHO businesses. The municipal government has supported them offering office rooms with sufficient telecommunication infrastructure suitable for SOHOs as hardware and consulting services for founding and managing businesses as software from the beginning. Based on the experience during past 12 years, we make a suggestion to the new community to introduce organized advisors on founding and management by proven SOHO presidents, attempting further progress of cumulation of SOHO businesses. And describe the image of the second stage.
