This study aims to clarify the characteristics of observation facilities provided by the ski resort business during the green season (snow-free season) and obtain suggestions on how to create observation content for the ski resort busi-ness during the green season. To this end, based on previous research, the concept of an observatory facility was constructed from three elements, namely, of mobile environment, stay environment, and usage fee. A grasp survey was conducted using the constructed observation facilities model. The results show that the characteristics of the observatory facility could be understood from 16 perspectives. By exploring the structure of the observation facilities, we were able to clarify the basic contentions that are useful for improving and creating observation content.

This study examined tourism-related macro trends in live entertainment, focusing on the place and time of the events. As part of the research, a large amount of spatio-temporal data on music and stage performances across Japan were analyzed to clarify the degree of spatial concentration of the events, the distribution of their starting times, and the regional differences among these. Additionally, the difference in starting time by sub-genre and size of the venue was also explained. Live entertainment events were spatially concentrated in few prefectures (particularly in Tokyo). In terms of the starting time of events, there was a tendency toward concentration on weekday nights and weekend daytime, however, when subdivided by genre, each had unique time distribution characteristics. Based on these results, the regional characteristics of live entertainment and its potential for night-time economy were considered.

In the era of depopulation, the related population is expected to play a leading role in the creation of a new community, but the boundary between the exchange population, and the settled population is ambiguous. Therefore, this study organized the related population concepts, and clarified the conditions and processes for the potential exchange population to transform into the related population. For that purpose, we constructed a hypothesis model and performed a covariance structure analysis, using a multi-index model from monitor survey data on the Web. The results clarified that the “self-expansion” and “local exchange” of the tourism experience fostered “self-expression” and “altruism” with regard to community involvement awareness. It also increased one’s intent to be actively involved in the community.

This study compared health tourism policies, cooperation between medical and wellness providers, and the effects of prefectural policies between Oita and Kagoshima to reveal how Japanese hot spring destinations should form health tourism. Oita has been trying to promote cooperation between medical and wellness providers to prove the efficacies of health resources, however, cooperation is stagnated while Kagoshima has been creating wellness tourism products and wellness tourism promotion and tourism promotion via international medical providers coexist in Kagoshima. We suggest taking the process of experimentations on efficacies of health resources to tourism as the tourism products and promoting the internationalization of medical providers and wellness providers separately.
