Investigations on some changes of unmonotonous conductivity L (a value of 1μs after marking DC3V) of meridian points were made by way of putting an artificial Qi energy controller or materials of psi-device on the meridian points of human body. An meridian system therapist is able to change the unmonotonous conductivity L of a patient's meridian points and the standard deviation σ (28 meridian points of both hands and feet) about 50% at the maximum using metallic board, ceramics and permanent magnet. Then, a test of L change when putting a metallic board and magnetic field on meridian points was conducted with an experimenter and a non-experimenter who had been selected at random among some students in good health during the absence of the therapist. Experiments were performed 37 times, among which, excepting 2 experiments for another purpose, changes were recognizable in 28 experiments and no change was shown in 3 experiments, while unclear results were obtained in 4 experiments. In conclusion, it can be considered that the unmonotonous conductivity L of meridian points is also changeable by means of using materials of metallic boards and magnetic field, moreover, the combination use realizes more remarkable change than single use.

Qi is measured by several technological methods, such as thermography, far-infrared spectrum, heart rate, blood pressure, brain wave, detection of low frequency signals from far-infrared emission and sound signal, detection of magnetic flux by a fluxgate and a SQUID. Thermographic date show close correlation between sender and receiver of Qi. But Qi can not be explained only by far-infrared energy. So we tried to detect signals from Qi sender in far-infraredregion and sound region. We caught specified low frequency signal in both experiments, around about 1Hz. Also we got nice brain wave datum at the same time between sender and receiver of Qi. In these date, both brain waves show good coincidence in the β brain wave region under Qi condition. This denotes a resonance phenomenon in both brain waves. Also when starting or stopping Qi, both brain waves show relatively quick transient phnomena. These transient time coincide with time coming out low frequency signal from far-infrared ray. Also a magnetic flux was delected from his hand or head of Qi sender and a magnetic flux measurement from his head of Qi sender was performed by using SQUID. We got interesting datum from these experiments.

Qi-Gong are the exercises which are originated in old Chinese religious tradition. They are said to be effective in health promotion. The purpose of this study was to examine the physiological and psychological characteristics of Qi-Gong exercises to investigate their effects. Thirteen voluntary healthy people exercised Qi-Gong. At first, they exercised 'Shuai-shou' which is a kind of preparatory exercise for Qi-Gong for ten minutes. Secondly, they exercised 'Zhan-zhuang' which is the motionless Qi-Gong for ten minutes. And finally, they exercised several kinds of Qi-Gong with movements, also for ten minutes. We measured blood pressure, temperature beneath the tongue, and state anxiety by the method of Spielberger before and after all the exercises. Also, we questioned subjective symptoms before and after every exercise. And, we measured respiratory frequency and beat-to-beat heart rate variability (HRV) as R-R intervals of ECG during every exercise and every five minutes' rest period before and after each exercise. We applied spectral analysis to the HRV for every five minutes during each exercise and each rest period after eliminating the fractal component by CGSA method. With this method, we calculated low frequency (0.00-0.15Hz) and high frequency (0.15-1.00Hz) areas under power spectra (Lo and Hi, respectively), and deducted the function of Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) by Lo/Hi and that of Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) by Hi/Total, respectively. Although, there were no significant changes either in blood pressure or in temperature beneath the tongue, state anxiety and subjective symptoms were significantly decreased after exercises. SNS was increased during Shuai-shou and Zhan-zhuang compared with each rest period just before each exercise, while PNS was decreased at the same time. And, SNS was increased during the rest period after all the exercises compared with the rest period before all the exercises, while PNS was decreased at the same time. These results indicate that Qi-Gong increased the activity of sympathetic nervous system. By the power spectral trend, we concluded that the activity of peripheral nervous system which controls peripheral vasomotion was espetially increased by Qi-Gong exercises.

The purpose of this study was to observe the positions of "seika-tanden" (the lower abdominal region) and the whole-body centers of gravity(CGs) in three sorts of standing postures (i. e. the relaxed, the standard and the corrected postures) , and to evaluate these postures applying the body alignment test and the degree of spinal curvature with a conformateur. The estimation of CGs was based on H. Matsui's body segment parameters by means of pictures in profile. The positions of tanden were obtained by H. Hida's and T. Yanagida's drawing figure methods. The subjects in this study were a trained man in "Seitai-Hou" and 13 untrained men. The results were as follows: 1) As to the characteristics in three postures estimated by the degree of spinal curvature, the relaxed and the standard posture tended to be "stoop" and "straight", respectively. While the corrected posture was characterized by the posture which showed the flatted back, the intense lumbar curvature, and the relatively projecting buttocks. 2) According to the results of the body alignment test, the score evaluated in the corrected posture for untrained men was lower than that in the standard posture, but the score for trained man in the corrected posture increased when changing from the relaxed posture to the corrected one. 3) The relative positions of tanden obtained by H. Hida's drawing figure method were in front of CGs in all postures. 4) Adopting T. Yanagida's drawing figure method, the positions of tanden (inner position) for both trained and untrained were fairly close to CGs in the corrected postures.

The "Katsugen-undo" exercise is one of the self physical training methods established about 70 years ago by Haruchika NOGUCHI as a part of the physical exercise based on "Qi". To know physical changes induced by the exercise with respect to the body movement, we analysed the changes in the body weight distribution on foot sole and in the centre of gravity of the body at the standing postures before and after the exercise. The results demonstrated a reduction in the surface area and temporal changes of the movement of the centre of gravity after the exercise. Its effect was also observed in the weights distributed on foot sole, notably in the thumb and heel parts of the sole of both feet and in the amount of weight change among the parts.

At the present time, there is no effective treatment on the chronic renal failure but the condition of the patients is, at best, made better by dialyses or renal transplantation at the final stage. Here, the authors have tried to radiate the human spirit, "QI" to the patients' affected parts, i,e., the kidney to cure the chronic renal failure. This treatment is called, "AST Chiro" method, being essentially different from the traditional Chinese "QI-GONG". Although these patients have so far been suffered from the serious renal failure, the cerum creatinine number of all these was decreased and subjective symptoms were also improved by the "QI" treatment. The patients whose cerum creatinine number of over 15 mg/dl, are generally requires introduction of dialysis, however none of these patients didn't require such dialysis at any time during treatment periods by performing both AST Chiro and the internal Clinical treatments.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how students cultivate essential humanness -"self-acutualization"- by a learning of creative dance and to inspect that it is not "instrumental learning", but "personality change" which is said by Maslow. The subjects are the 43 university students majoring in pedagogy of primary education. Before and after the 12 creative dance classes, the subjects are required to write about the following questions. 1. About the experience of education which makes the most of individuality 2. What must teachers do in order to make the most of pupiles' individuality? 3. What is creativity? 4. Evaluate self creativity and write the reason 5. Finishing a learning, what did yor understand or obtain? (only after classes) 6. About the significance of creative dance (only after classes) Their descriptions about each question are classified and analized by the K-Jmethod. Before and after results were compared with Maslow's basic needs and their hierarchical arrangement. The results are summerized as follw. Before a learning of creative dance, most students have had education which is far from making the most of individuality; Maslow said "instrumental learning";. After taking 12 creative dance classes, such students improved in their various ability on creative dance, such as sensitivity, observation, thinking power, imagination, individuality, creativity and body movement. At the same time, they were able to be judged that they recognized the creativity as essential humanness. Consequently, a learning of crative dance is concerned in self-acutualization and growth and then it was inspected that a learning of creative dance can be "peresonality change" as Msalow said.

In general, people think that a view of the mind-body in the East is monism, but a specialist in Bugei and Geido of Japan thought realistic, fine mind-body theory. It is a theory formulated in light of the practice, not the Cartesian mind-body dualism, not the general mind-body monism in the East. The purposes of this study are to clarify this idea by a analysis of Jujutsu's historical materials in the Edo era. Our study can be summarized as follows; 1) The view of Jujutsu's mind-body founded on Confucianism's cosmology, so that it regarded nature as macro-cosmos, a man as micro-cosmos. This viewpoint was the basis of various levels in Jujutsu. 2) The characteristic of the technical theory in Jujutsu was expressed by the proverb "Ju yoku go wo seisu". This proverb means that a soft action controls a hard action, or a soft idea controls a hard action. In Jujutsu, it was used to express a ideal of mental state and quality of strength on a practice or on a battle. 3) The trainning theories of Jujutsu attach importance to a waist and "Seika Tanden" (a belly under a navel). "Seika Tanden" was grasped the tank of "Qi" in the East.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) of a Chinese male Qi-gongist (41-year-old) was measured with changing his consciousness and that of a Japanese male subject (32-year-old) receiving Qi was also measured simultaneously. When the Qi-gongist radiated Qi while concentrating his consciousness on the left hemisphere of hi brain, very spiky brain waves appeared strongly on the left. Those waves belonged to the high voltage alpha band accompanied by fast waves, and had high coherency; the main frequency was 12.6 Hz. When he moved his consciousness to the right hemisphere, those wave-bast moved to the right within a few seconds. The main frequency of this case spread around 12.0 Hz and some EMGs (electromyograms) were recognized to be mingled. The EEGs of the subject were alternated on the beta appearance in the left and in the right hemisphere by the EEGs of the Qi-gongist. After Qi-gong the effect was still remained on the EEG. In the resting state of this Qi-gongist repetitive population spikes were appeared on the right hemisphere approximately every ten seconds. During these spikes, synchronic fast waves were observed on the EEG of the subject. These spiky waves and spikes will be analyzed in detail by the following study.

Hitherto, outer Qi have been received, in the bio-medical field, mainly by human bodies, but these have not yet been confirmed that the outer-qi could excite the electric measuring systems without touching any electrodes or such to the body of Qi transmitter. We found that the Qi irradiation induced significant changes in electric signals not only from the body who emitted Qi but the person being emitted from a profesional Qi transmitter. These electric signal had been monitored by enlarging electric mutual impedance between the earth and the human body by 60 dB ampifications both pre and main amplifiers.

Observation of Qi-gong operations are performed by meridian activity measuring method using single square voltage pulse technic. The results show that variations in the "Qi-flow", the activity in sympathetic nerves and the epidemic temperature in the fingers of the Qi sender are well correlated with the procedure of the internal operation of the Qi system by the sender. Synchronous changes of the meridian parameters are observed between the Qi sender and the acceptor. To verify the distant interaction between the Qi sender and the acceptor with high reliability, it is necessary to compile data which are obtained by experiments conducted under well defined condition.

Unusually, we can not recognize Qi energy which is assumed in oriental medicine or oriental philosophy with ordinary observation system. For this reason, Qi energy had scarcely been regarded as serious problem. From a Quantum mechanical point of view which has similar way of thinking to that of oriental philosophy, Qi energy is considered to influence quantum wave function nonlocally. This idea is opposed to the present outlook of natural science. Therefore it is difficult to research Qi energy in present science. Conversely elucidation of Qi energy has a possibility of changing viewpoint of natural science.
