Kurita's Super Reading System (SRS) is a method seeking improvement of intellectual function and a change in the paradigm of human information processing, Students in this course engage in activities for the improvement of the following six systems: 1) motor system, 2) autonomic nervous system, 3) emotional system, 4) imagery & sensory system, 5) language system, and 6) metabobic & subconscious system. In this study, we analyzed the physical complaints of the students. The subjects included 72 students attending Kurita's SRS course. Data here are shown in averages. Skill in unraveling a maze within 20 seconds increased to 3.3 times the baseline skill initially assessed. The number of simple arithmetical additions within one minute increased to 1.45 times the initial number. Reading speed within one minute increased to 24 times the initial one. The sum of subjective scores of well being for six systems (on a scale of 0 to 10) increased from 34.2 to 43.8. Average subjective scores (on a scale of 0 to 10) for physical complaints decreased as follows: shoulder stiffness from 2.4 to 1.6, eye fatifgue from 3.0 to 2.1, neck siffness from 2.7 to 1.6, headache from 1.2 to 0.7, abdominal pain from 1.2 to 0.7, lumbago from 1.3 to 0.6. All these decreases were statistically significant by the paired t-test. These results suggest that the training of speed reading increases the well being of body and mind and improves physical complaints. A series of special training exercises for the acceleration of intellectual function and activation of six systems of body and mind is a novel and highly effective methodology for the attainment of holistic health.

To elucidate effects of meridian vessel function before and after Yoga, studies were made on 11 healthy volunteered subjects (female 8, male 3: age 30±4.5 year). In the first series, a 15-steps Yoga Asana was performed under the guidance of instructor. In the second series, Before Polarization (BP) values were adopted as an indicator of 12 meridian vessel functions and were determined by Electrodermal diagnostic instrument named the AMI before and after Yoga. In all subjects, averaged BP values of all meridians decreased and there were no markedly statistical significant changes in all BP values after Yoga. Conversion of all BP values into percentile data were made to perform the Principle Component Analysis (PCA) and to identify subgroups in all subjects. The result showed that either increase or decrease of the BP value in Liver and in Urinary Bladder meridians in all subjects were significant to identify subgroups after Yoga. From these findings, it is considered that a transient muscle fatigue intervened in the effects of Yoga and "Ki energy interaction" was concerned. This study suggested that these data obtained from AMI and PCA were valid for assessing effects of Yoga on meridian vessel function.

EEC changes have been experimentally studied on five Qigong trainees for two years. The measurements were carried out on three different methods of internal quiet Qigong performed in the standing condition, i. e. Ma-Bu Zhan-Zhuang-Gong, Bao-Qiu and Na-Qi-Gui-Yuan-Fa, at 3, 8, 12, 18 and 24 months after the first lesson. The effective α-amplitude of the occipital region, as an indicator of relaxation, became a little larger during Qigong than in the resting state at the beginning, though, the increasing rate became smaller after one year. The ratio of α-amplitude on the frontal region to the occipital region, which is usually large for Qigong masters, especially while performing Qigong, had a tendency to become larger during Qigong than in the resting state after the end of the first year. The phase difference between frontal and occipital a waves, which indicates the rate of concentration, tended to become shorter in the course of training. The α-frequency became gradually slower as the practice progressed. From these results it was considered that the subjects gradually become able to practice Qigong easier without superfluous thoughts.

It is becoming clear that concentration improves the immune capabiliy. Zazen is considered as one concentration method. The changes occurring in the levels of natural killer (NK) cell activity, CD4, CD8 and the ratio of CD4/CD8 in venous blood before and after 40-minute zazen were simultaneously measured. A total of thirteen monks ranging in age from 21 to 78 with 2 to 50 years of experience in zazen. The level of NK cell activity was 22.7±7.1% during the rest period, and decreased to 19.6±5.5% after Yaza were practiced for 40 minutes in the night. In Soushinza, which was conducted in the morning, the rest value of NK cell activity level was 41.1±17.9%, and decreased to 36.9±18.3% (p<0.05). No significant difference was seen between Yaza and Soushinza in the level of NK cell activity. The level of CD4 showed an increase, but the CD8 level showed a tendency to decrease slightly and, consequently, the ratio of CD4/CD8 increased after Yaza and Soushinza. It is presumed that the immune capability was stimulated and caused improvement.

This study is based on an investigation of 356 patients who complained about an unidentified clinical syndrome during the period between 1983 and 1994. This unidentified clinical syndrome, with its diversified symptoms and deep-rooted factors, is a serious problem. The patients suffer for long periods of time with no appropriate treatment. Many of them repeatedly visit medical facilities, receive folk remedies or resort to religion. Up to 28% engage in antisocial behavior such as pachinko gambling addiction, consumer-loan addiction, kitchen-drinking and drug dependency. The more the patients become absorbed in these diversions, the lighter their symptoms seem to become. Husbands who have been affected by these unidentified clinical syndromes in their wives can take refuge in divorce or even sexual abstinence, but frequently mistreat their children. The incidence of problem children who refuse to attend school and exhibit anorexia nervosa as an escape mechanism is on the increase, and they are also left adrift without receiving effective clinical treatment. Problem children in themselves cause problems, but their mothers are frequently the root-cause. In addition, in many cases, their fathers are involved as well. Resolving the family's problems is the most important task. If the couples remain sexless, with the wives thus going into menopause at an early age, they will become susceptible to the unidentified clinical syndrome. Why do they engage in sexual abstinence? The reason for it is a sexual disorder. Male sexual disorders can be detected rather readily, but female cases are difficult to detect. In the meantime, family problems occur from causes buried in the subconscious mind. These couples experience the unidentified clinical syndrome with a sexless relationship.

The patient whose lifetime was expected to be only 6 month at his first ventrotomy operation was taken cooperated care by AST Chiro treatments and modern medical techniques on his colon cancer with peritonitis carninomatosa and his lifetime was prolonged to one year and nine months without feeling serious pain in daily lives. During these days, the authors have had much valuable experience. The primary cancer pattern of which maximum size was 60mm after the palpation became as small as not detectable after 17 months' AST Chiro treatment. And also the intrahepatic tumor of which diametric size was 15mm disappeared by 6 months' treatment. During the treatment, the barium camera study clearly followed the change. The patient spent his daily life and worked almost the same way as healthy persons and kept high quality of life for about one year. For the complication of the terminal stage, "stemming technique of Chiro" was applied to cure the ascites and pleural effusion. After contract of pneumonia, the technique of Corona and Plate-techniques were focussed to the cardio-pulmonary. As the result, his pain in respiration was smoothed and relaxed and the arterial oxygen saturation was increased without any side effect.

A new value-oriented information system was discovered that consists of three elements: (1) the pineal body, which Descartes considered to be the seat of the spirit: (2) the "Bi-Digital O-Ring Test", which is considered to represent human spiritual properties and is a traditional sign in religion and healing: and (3) a semiconductor visible-light laser. A new energy phenomenon resulting from the action of directed electromagnetic waves with respect to a specified "object" is transmitted electromagnetically by the "pineal body" and "Bi-Digital O-Ring Test" system. At this site, a new topological wave motion resonance occurs and numerical values related to the inherent "polarity and quantity" of the substance appear via a quantum-mechanical process. This is considered to involve high-energy phosphates and protein phosphokinase activated by means of a signal transduction cascade in the pineal body. This biochemical mechanism mainly results in quantitative information together with "object" in the cerebrum (pineal body) organization. At the present level of scientific development, this can be only recognized by a positive "Bi-Digital O-Ring Test" (BDOT) using the semiconductor visible ruby laser. This numerical value indicates inherent quantitative value of information belonging to "object".
