JOURNAL OPEN ACCESSThis paper presents a theory on the magnetizing process of magnetic films with columnar structure. Theoretical calculation has been carried out using a model in which small magnetic cylinders form an infinite two-dimensional array with hexagonal symmetry. Experiments have also been done on technical magnetization curves for iron films prepared by an anodic oxidation method.
