This paper proposes a concept of a driving support system that is adaptive to the state of surrounding vehicle drivers. We will discuss a rear-end pre-crash system whose operation timing is adaptively changed according to expected response time and collision risk of the following vehicle driver to an abrupt incident estimated from the vehicle behavior. This paper shows a rear-end pre-crash system that is adaptive to the following vehicle driver state is more effective compared to the one that is not adaptive to the driver state.
