Our group discussed how to organize the integrated science curriculum for "Science I", and we decided to organize it synthetically by setting up a certain theme. "Solar Radiation" was chosen as the main theme, and we studied the contents and construction of our curriculum. " Solar Radiation" was composed of next four units. I The sun, II Solar radiation, III The effects of solar radiation to the earth, IV Solar radiation and man, On the basis of our curriculum construction, sixteen examples of teaching materials were made out, and in addition to them, some experiments and other teaching materials which relate to our curriculum were developed. And some teaching materials which relate to the project study in "Science II" were developed by following the classification described in the New Course of Study in Japan.

This paper describes a technical procedure for extracting important words from educational documents. These words are intended to be used in the near future, when a discussion on the thesaurus in educational circles is raised for a construction of an information retrieval system. The documents used for the extraction were selected from three major areas in educational studies; 556 titles from papers in educational technology, 571 in educational psychology and 556 in pedagogy. 2,957 different words were extracted from the titles in research papers and 11,950 key words from three major dictionaries of education. The algorithm of extracting the keywords was simple but unsuitable for automatic processing by computer. It had to be reinforced by manual processing in order to get the complete list. 1,097 word bases were extracted from this list of keywords. Finally 14,880 words were selected and arranged into the fifty character phonetic Japanese "alphabet" under the entries of the selected word bases.

The educational system discussed here is the one which permits the students to discuss over their test answers. The system is performed in the way that the teacher gives a test problem to the students and evaluates them, then, divides them into groups based on the information of the evaluated results and let them discuss over their test answers in each group. As for the system, this paper presents following two contents. Firstly, how to divide the class into groups is discussed. The authors classify test problems into two types and establish the grouping algorithm for each type. Secondly, a questionnaire of the educational system mentioned above is discussed. It consists of "utility of the system", "motivation" and "personality".
