In dialects spoken in the western Kamigata area around Kobe, -te+Specifier construction (TSC), e.g. -te-ja, -te-zo, -te-ka, can be used as a subject honorific expression (sonkeigo). TSC first appeared in the early Edo period and it had the usage of continuative aspect and present tense in addition to the honorific. Take, for instance, the following. Hayashi dono, kokoni nani shitezo? (Mr. Hayashi, what are you doing here?) Today, such function of aspect and tense has been lost from TSC. In this paper, I collected many examples from the archives of historical Kamigata Dialects, e.g. joruri, sharehon, hanashibon, and distributed them from the viewpoint of aspect and tense, and to determine the time when TSC lost such a function; namely, around 1780s. Moreover, I proposed the functional change of TSC was caused by the appearance of -te-inasaru, which was very similar in usage to TSC.
