In the vehicle engine, the amount of 20 seconds after cold starts of HC (unburnt hydrocarbon) exhaust accounts for about 50% of the mode driving. This air/fuel ratio (A/F) control at the period is an open loop and it varies widely. In this paper, it was shown to be able to decrease the HC difference by controlling with A/F sensor made by the neural net work.

This paper deals with a simultaneous design of structural and reduced-order H-infinity control systems.
In this paper, we propose an iterative approach to this control problem, which constructs an infeasible controller sequence approaching a feasible region.
The feature of our approach is to be able to choose any controller variables as an initial point.

This paper proposes a method of tracking control based on model predictive controls. When model predicitve control are used for tracking control, some reference state and input trajectories are often employed. In this paper, we use, as the feference trajectories, state trajectories for perfect tracking, which we have characterized so far. The numerical examples show that quasi finite time tracking can be achieved even in the existing of disturbances and input constraints.

In design of a networked control system, one has to require to handle dynamics of a control system itself, as well as some particular properties such as transmission delay, loss, and distortion. We have proposed a remote control technique for stabilizing constrained linear systems including communication links of the network, whose model is unknown. As far as the links never cut, the control technique can assure the stabilization of the remote control system. Furthermore, some experimental results are presented, where tracking control of a DC motor was performed over the Internet.

Conventional wireless communications have been developed aiming higher frequency efficiency, or higher speed, for a given bandwidth with acceptable average error rate. In many wireless controls, on the contrary, data to be sent is relatively small and high data rate is not required, however, the data has to arrive to its destination just-in-time with high reliability. Based on these differences, this presentation introduces the recent works on impacts of wireless technology for control systems, measure of reliability, and strategies for performance improvements.

This paper presents a method for automated human detection using fisheye lens camera. In our method, human is modeled as probabilistic templates of body silhouette and head-shoulder contour. The problem of human detection is formulated as maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation using the template model. Experiments are conducted on indoor space where a fisheye lens camera is installed on the ceiling of crossing hallway. The feasibility and accuracy of our method is discussed through the experimental results.

We propose a path control method with preview compensation on 3-dimensional space . The x-y-z coordinate system is converted into the system consists of forward vector and plain which estimates the path error. The effectiveness is confirmed by experimental studies.
