In the case of Chromium electroplatng, the deposition is more concentrated on the point where the electric current is strongest, such as on the tip of pole, which is more remarkable than in the cases of other metals.
In hard chromium plating, thick and uniform film is particularly called for, but it is not so easy to meet this demand.
Usually the “P. R. Process” or “Periodic Reverse Current Eelectroplating” is adoped to avoid over concentration of the deposit. This study, however, concerns the effect on the surface of chromium deposit by chemical-cell-electric current generated in the electrolytic circuit during the suspension of power.

The depth of surface layer containing residual stresses and the maximum residual stress decrease at grinding operation with the oilily grinding oil.
The effects of the oils to the residual stresses, at the grinding operation with the blinded wheel are greater than with the dressed wheel.
Grinding forces are measured by the special wirestrain Gauge, and Grinding Heat are calculated from the forces.
By the results of the many grinding tests, the Grinding Heat occurs approximately 0.15-0.2 Cal/mm² at dry grinding, 0, 08-0.12Cal/mm² with soluble grinding oils, and 0.04-0.08Cal/mm² with oilily grinding oils.
